Love this place. Went to the State completion for Fiddling and Banjo. Then on Friday & Saturday nights went to to the park to hear groups play and sing. Wish I could go more often. Met lots of good people.

First time in 45 years we have ever been disappointed in coming to Mountainview. We brought a large group of our family and friends to celebrate our 45th wedding anniversary. Our children, grandchildren, and friends have always enjoyed the clean, respectful, honorable atmosphere of this quaint town. We brought family and friends this time ages 3-63 for a Thursday to stay Sunday stay. So very glad all of them weren't with us as we finished out THIS Friday night (6-10-22) driving by the front of the courthouse and pulling in to listen a few minutes to the band playing, the old Hank Williams song was playing "why do we drink" (folks yelled out, "to get drunk") and "why do we smoke" (folks yelled out, "to get high") was being sung loud and proud by a small crowd of "rowdy folks" in front of our parked vehicle as the young couple on the bench provided a lap dance show as an adult filmed them.
There was also folks "vaping" and blowing smoke in the Pickin' Park.
Not sure what is happening in Mountainview that has changed the "clean" fun, but we will definitely reconsider our next location for our 4-5 trips we make to Mountainview a year and our 2-4 night stay.
We enjoy the bands on the square, but each time we come, they get a little more "unclean" and "suggestive" with their songs. Love the town, but we may need to reconsider our visits.

I called to get visitors information via email. I called twice and never received anything! Lousy business practice, to out right like. Tourism is your MONEY!!!!!
