I stayed at the Carl on Riley St when I studied abroad from Australia. It is a great location, being close to the trolley (to go to downtown or Fashion Valley, SDSU etc) for those without a car, whilst also being close to some cafes and only a stone throw from USD. The facilities were maintained to a high standard and if a problem occurred occasionally with the AC or washing machine for example, it was very simple to submit a request and a maintenance person would come within the week to fix the issue. The Amazon lockers in the garage and the rooftop space were great spaces to relax. Overall it was a great experience and I would highly recommend the Carl to anyone looking for accomodation close to USD or in the Morena neighbourhood.
