Picture this you have a balance of $4500. You pay 4 payments to Capital One on four different credit lines one for $625, $25, $35, and the last one a $96 DEBIT CARD transaction. The other three wer ACH , but on this one (debit) I was on phone with Capital One when I paid it and they told me it went through! Friday 14th 9am paid! They don't work weekends because they're too cheap! so nobody will be there to help you with your money on Saturday or Sunday! Fast-forward Monday 17th, you have a $300 balance After paying a lot of bills. Now they have subtracted five $27 overdraft fees total $165 total out of your $300 balance!
They didn't pay $200 in credit card bills, They said I was overdrafted but I still have a $300 balance that they're taking $165 out of , for overdraft fees! Wich makes zero sense! Friday morning they took the $625 Payment out, but not $200 in credit cards When I asked him why they said ACH processing takes three days?!? I said they all went to the same company, and how come it didn't take three days for the $625 to come out?
CRICKETS!! NO ANSWER!! I told them because if you would've left that money in there for your ACH processing, I would've had plenty of money in there. You couldn't charge me overdraft fees so you made sure you took that money out right away so you can make sure you charge me overdraft fees on five small credit card payments. (2 to different co.) so basically, instead of paying my payments, They made sure they left the money in there to overdraft me , so they can pay themselves!! BOTTOM FEEDERS!! They are picking and choosing which bills they want to pay, Using ACH processing as an excuse when they feel like it! And make sure that lineing their pockets is priority, Instead of paying your bills!!
Then when I ask, Why did my My $96 debit card payment get returned? They flat out, lied and said it came through as a ACH transaction! When I was on the phone with the lady when she ran it and cleared it!! MORE LIES!!
DO NOT BANK HERE! I'm not no slouch I got over 12 Gs going through this bank account every month! NO MAS ADIOS LOSERS!

Update. Forget it. Forced a non working bank app on apl members. Its got horrible reviews. I need a new bank. The app is rated poorly they are non respinsive to a bulk of customer needs based on call volume. I hope people are canceling avcounts its a huge issue. End update. people are great. but until the ATM is fixed and accepts cash this 1 star makes obvious sense. same with the atm on college ave. Fixed some ATM

Went by with a double purpose: to exchange a twenty for quarters and scope out the place before potentially opening an account. The business was in a weird multi-occupant office building on the second floor. They immediately refused in an unfriendly manner to exchange my 20 for quarters because I didn't have an account. Now I certainly won't open an account.

Called there because I was referred to this bank for a loan and was refused even though I have a score above 700. I called Wellsfargo and was approved. Never again will I do business with this bank.

Really appalling customer service. I have been going there EVERY month for 7.5 YEARS and there is NO institutional memory. Every time I enter, I'm treated with suspicion as if I'm going to rob the bank. Just for the record, I'm depositing a rent check EVERY month in the landlord's account...for 7.5 years. I'm trying to deposit money, not withdraw money but that makes no difference to the credit union. I've complained to managers and it makes no difference. Why anyone would open an account or have an account at this place is incomprehensible to me. They simply don't give a damn about customer service.

Great service. Raul Torres was my personal banker. Very knowledgeable, patient and polite. He goes above and beyond to get you the most suitable account. His demeanor def/ makes you leave the branch with a smile on your face.

Having moved my accounts from Chase to CCCU, I can honestly say it's likely the best choice I could've made financially AND personally. Every time I walk into the CCCU, I'm greeted pleasantly and asked how I'm doing; something I never got at Chase Bank. Additionally, their financial advisors immediately went to work helping me invest my money to get the most out of it while I just let it sit in the credit union. Their 'Take 5' CD was an amazing gift as a new customer as well! Where else can you get a 5% return on a 5-month CD? These people are awesome!

Zoro star if I could do it.

This morning, I went to open an account at the University Heights location: 4470 Park Blvd. San Diego, CA 92116. A woman named "Veronica" served me. Her professionalism is much worse than a good wait staff in a restaurant. From the way she talked to me, she does not seem to have been trained well for the job or educated properly in the finance field. She verbally tried to assure me that she was very trust worthy and experienced, but her mannerism and her language show that she is very poorly educated in the field.

There is a huge privacy risk involved in opening an account with CCCU. The person, Veronica, who was opening the account for me asked for information such as the secret code I want to use for my account, my mother’s maiden name, etc. This kind of information would enable anyone to have access to my account or answer the security questions for other important accounts if I give them all to her. She also repeated my social security number very loudly, which made me very uneasy and worried, because other people sitting right at the next cubicle could hear everything that is being said, which creates ample opportunities for irregularities to happen. She did not inform me what is entailed when opening an account in advance, but did it after I have already given her vital information of mine. When I expressed my concerns, she then refused service to me. I asked her what she is going to do with my information, she said she would delete it. I hope she did!

If she is following the proper procedure, then the system is so flawed that it would be very easy for customer's vital private information to be stolen. A good system should have separation of duties and lots of other checks and balances so that NO employee can have enough information to do anything wrong. And the office setup should give customer enough privacy so that no private information should be spoken within the earshot of anybody except for the customer and employee providing the service.

This kind of business practice is exactly how identity theft problem is so big in the U.S.: it is just so easy for people to get hold of private information even at places where it is supposed to be extremely safe for customers. Unfortunately, the reality is that it is not safe at all at such places because of the poor quality and or poor training of the employees, and the weak and or flawed system design. However, most people who are not trained in the financial field are not aware of the security flaws of the system and the quality of the staff. What is sad is that there is no enforcement or compliance to the various laws almost everywhere you go in San Diego, which leaves people, especially the at-risk group in harm’s way.

All in all, California Coast Credit Union has a very weak internal control as far as customer privacy is concerned. Therefore, unless you have reliable identity protection, DO NOT do business with CCCU!
