Because of mistakes made at this branch I had to endure hell in Chula Vista. So This review gets filed for both branches.

I can't give a lower rating or I would.

I don't know where to start. I have 5 examples of how bad they are but lets just do one. I was an executor and POA for a friend who passed away. It took me almost 4 hours to get the account closed, with tons of documentation including death and marriage certificates, copies of licenses and social security cards. The works. Today I called to see if I had been issued a 1099 for the account that I closed and for which SDCCU mailed a check to me.

They had no record of me closing the account or of them sending a check to me and was asking to me fax the death certificate to them. I thought that's what I spent 4 hours doing a few months ago.

Ok, one more example. I set up an appointment to close this account. I asked what documents I would need and SDCCU told me they couldn't tell me, even generally and transferred me to the branch. I asked the branch what documents I needed and they wouldn't tell me. So when I get there ( I live out of town). I had to get original copies of documents from someone in memory care.

If you want problems, red tape, and repeat visits, SDCCU is the place to go. If you want trouble free banking, try Mission Federal. I got superior services and support.

Your choice. You have been warned.

This branch is horrible. I went to close my account. I was told that because I had a pending charge that I was unable to. I spoke to the teller saying that I would pay for pending transaction with cash from out of my purse. She wouldn't allow me to pay the one pending charge. I told her to take the exact amount of the pending charge and close the account. The teller took more than the pending charge didn't
close the account and let the supposedly close account take a direct payment that I wasn't able to stop because my "closed account" was not "closed". I told the bank manager that she needs to pull the tape of the transaction in question and told me that it's only a video feed and has no sound. How convient so she wanted me to pay a overdraft charge for an account that should have been closed 3 days ago. I will never bank with SDCCU AGAIN they don't do what is asked. This branch needs to train their tellers to do what the member is requesting. I tried reporting them to the BBB but was unable to find them. This bank is not a good bank they need to review the policy of closing an account and teach the tellers.

The people at this branch are very nice and helpful, BUT SDCCU has now canceled their electronic bank-to-bank transfer services, which makes it inconvenient to get money out, once you've put it in. My other credit union allows me to electronically link my accounts at different financial providers, not SDCCU. Why did they cancel this service late last year? Nobody can answer, and they don't have options beside billpay or wire transfer. I'll be opening an account somewhere else that lets me transfer my money like it's 2024.

The SDCCU college area staff helped me with my pre owned car loan. David F. Was able to get me a check in a couple of minutes. The staff is professional and very well trained. I highly recommend see one of their people for any of your needs.

Please be aware this location’s lack of communication or not been knowledgeable about banking transactions.
Watch for your ACH draft and follow up to make sure is done correctly.
I’ve been receiving Delinquent Notices because of that.

I would give 0 stars to this bank hands down the worst customer service ever! If you need to replace your debit card dont wear a hat in this branch!
