The worst property management company. They told us they lost our rent even though they deposited the check. They hiked up the rent every year. I called out of work several times waiting for them to show to fix things but they never came by. They left a gaping hole in our sink for several months. Mold was under the sink for about a year. Gas leaked from the heater. Right when we moved in everything started breaking. Expect rent hikes but don’t expect to get your deposit back.

Do NOT rent from Don Dieser (Gold Standard Asset Management)

We rented a house in El Segundo, California under the management of Don Dieser and GSAM for nearly two years.

When we were in the rental unit, Don Dieser was extremely negligent and unprofessional in his duties as landlord. Our unit was not up to code in many ways (no heat in unit, fire hazards in laundry room area + electrical panel) as well as structural damage and incomplete work from being recently remodeled. Mr. Dieser dodged and deflected any communication from his tenants, passing it off to his handyman Sam Diaz, who would say he is not authorized to do anything without the tenants talking to Mr. Dieser (sending you into a never ending loop)

When we moved out he illegally held our security deposit without any formal written explanation, after leaving the house in near perfect condition and leaving hundreds of dollars of improvements we installed within the home. We took Mr. Dieser to court and won twice. He refused to pay what is owed and claimed he is bankrupt. He knew exactly what to do and say to take advantage of us and make this process drag on as long as he could. He failed to appear to three separate court dates and now has an arrest warrant out from the state of California.

After doing more research we see that he's not just doing this to us, but many other tenants. Mr. Dieser is a bully + thinks he’s above the law.

After 10 months + 5 days in small claims court, we finally got our security deposit returned to us. I would NOT recommend anyone rent from Don Dieser and GSAM.

this company neglected our el segundo apartment for the 2 years we lived there. they raise the rent annually without making any repairs or improvements. failed to fix rotten doors & windows, broken window locks, broken garage door, and broken light fixtures. they failed to return my security deposit in full......the deductions they made from my deposit was for multiple late payment fees (which i am not guilty of) for higher rates than stated in our lease. i am filing a small claims suit against them and filed a complaint with the BBB. this is a lazy, shady company. do not rent from them.

I only gave one star because I had to. This is the WORST company ever! I lived in a unit on Downey Ave for 2 years. In that time we had at least 6 mangers and they all did not do anything to make it better! Just like others rent went up annually and nothing. Having to take them to court to get our security deposit back. HORRIBLE MANAGEMENT

The management is good. The property has a few issues with plumbing and water leaking. There's been several vehicles broken into recently, there once was security and cameras but they've since been removed. This is unfortunate for amount of rent paid.

Moved out in March, never gave me my deposit back. I’ve been trying to follow up and Don and Kavell but dodge my calls and emails. Came to the building and you have to get buzzed in but nobody answers.

I live at one of the Austin properties and it's definitely getting better after the management change. It's not yet work what they have increased prices to, but it's getting there.
