My insurance was canceled without any notice due to be $3.00 short on my monthly payment (that I was NEVER late on). When I called and asked to have my insurance reinstated, I was told I had to come in person to sign up. When I said that wasn’t possible and asked to speak to my agent, I was told I couldn’t and should look for insurance elsewhere. Not only did I find a very friendly insurance agent at State Farm, I also have a higher level of coverage and pay far less. To be treated so rudely and never have anyone follow up with me after several years of being a customer, I was highly disappointed!

I would give this zero if I could. This agency are filled with agents that are polite, kind, and even knowledgeable. However, at the end, our policy was cancelled due to their incompetence. They "processed" the wrong amount due at the time and thanks to that, our policy was cancelled. They didn't even take accountability for their mistake, wanting to give us a "discounted" rate to pay 50% upfront to "restart" it. No, thanks. How unfortunate though, because AllState themselves as an insurance company and service are great.

I don't know what the experience of a car driver is or would be as an Allstate customer. As a motorcycle rider, it is the worse insurance company I've dealt with in all my riding years.
The customer service and accessibility to one's agent and the access to your policy, changing policies, etc, are all practical and work fluidly. The agents are professional and courteous, etc. It's just the payback/coverage or what you/ the customer gets in return for an accident or anything there within with there base policy as a motorcycle rider. Nothing! That is to make a long story short. Even to the point of getting roadside assistance.
I found it far easier time wise and cost to just call a local or motorcycle specific tow service than dealing with the agents and so forth.
I actually had my bike that got hit, towed to a mechanic/motorcycle shop and had that same tow driver a few days later give me a ride to pick up a new motorcycle and bring me back home before Allstate even got finished with the overall estimate, which is nothing by the way, unless you have premium coverage, -1000 deductable.
With every insurance company I've been with prior I got a couple hundred bucks just for filing a claim more less if there was some real damage to the bike/- "hit and runs" when it's parked and just gets knocked over, which was the reason for this review and the only claim I've filed with Allstate.
I got nothing, but at first they have you take a bunch of pictures, file police reports and the the whole jam as to make it seem as if there is anything more than a 1000$ deductable you would pay after, for whatever damages accrued. So for something like a hit and run on a parked vehicle, to no fault of your own, as a motorcycle rider with base coverage you get nothing as the damages wouldn't be to much more than a thousand bucks, if that and they have a system in order to avoid paying out anything. Not that that's not the principal of any insurance company but there is a big difference between not (paying out an exorbitant) amount opposed to (not paying anything) for something that isn't your fault and making the customer go through all kinds of unnecessary things like taking pictures of the damages if there is no intention of paying anything.
With all other insurance companies, not that I've been with them all. But I've gotten something for being insured with the company stand alone regardless of the policy's, be it a few hundred bucks for a new helmet and any repairs or some type of assistance in helping me get a new motorcycle, tires, cosmetics or whatever. So I changed my policy to the premium coverage and now I'm supposedly covered for anything like a minor hit and run, which is per this review and my only experience in filing a claim with Allstate. But as a motorcycle rider had I known, I would have went with my old insurance company when I started riding again. I just chose Allstate because it was spurt of the moment when I got back to riding and just got Allstate because of the commercials and it was the first thing to pop up in the search engine/browser. I gave three stars because like I said the accessibility to an agent and everything else is good. I had no problems getting in contact with my local agency and my personal agent never made me feel like they didn't care in regards to service, live communication and not just automated prompts and being put on hold or transferred to "another department." So it's the reason I stayed with them and just changed my policy. But I wouldn't recommend Allstate to motorcycle riders from my initial experience, as it seems to cater to cars and has no real motorcycle department/specific coverage and it's not there fault, it's mine for not really taking time to see what is the best insurance company for motorcycle riders. I will stay with Allstate for a bit longer, but I'm also going to look for a different insurance company that may have better coverage for less. Sorry for the drawn out rev and I know it's a bit contradictory, but I'm just trying to be fair.
