ATM almost always not accepting deposits, and then when you go inside there's 20 people in line and one or two tellers. Absolute joke and horrible customer service. I now remember why I closed my account here several years ago. Will be doing so again soon and this time for good

I recently had a frustrating experience with Golden One Credit Union that has left me deeply dissatisfied with their customer service. After overpaying on a medical bill, I received three checks from my medical provider, which I attempted to deposit at different banks. While Chase Bank processed two of the checks without issue, Golden One Credit Union at the Stockton Morada Office declined my check, froze my debit card, and sent the check back to me with a note stating "Refer to Maker." This lack of support and communication has caused significant inconvenience.

When I first contacted Golden One's customer service at the Morada Office, the representative assured me that everything was fine and I should be able to use my debit card. This was not the case, as I discovered later while out of town. Despite their assurances, my card was unusable, leaving me frustrated and reliant on my Chase Bank card. The contradictory information from the customer service representative only added to my confusion and disappointment.

Upon returning home, I sought further clarification from another Golden One representative. She explained that the issue with my card stemmed from a difference in their verification system, which left me baffled. It seemed unreasonable that a bank would have such discrepancies in their processes that would prevent me from accessing my own funds. This lack of transparency and consistency in their operations has made me question their reliability as a financial institution.

The situation worsened when I attempted to cash the returned check at Wells Fargo, only to be told that Golden One had flagged it as "Refer to Maker." This meant that I was unable to access the funds that were rightfully owed to me. Frustrated, I returned to Chase Bank, where they processed the check without any issues. This stark contrast in service only reinforced my dissatisfaction with Golden One.

Overall, my experience with Golden One Credit Union has been overwhelmingly negative. Their customer service was unhelpful, their systems unclear, and their actions led to unnecessary complications. As a result, I cannot recommend Golden One Credit Union to anyone seeking reliable banking services. It’s evident that their processes need significant improvement to better serve their customers.

Love Golden 1 as a Credit Union when it comes to their online services.

This specific branch always seems to have issues. Long lines, a lack of customer service representatives at each station, and their ATM advertises deposits but when you go to use it this feature, it has been “temporarily unavailable” for over a year.

Unfortunately this the closest branch to my house and I always seem to be displeased every single visit.

I have tried to get in contact with customer service about the ATM but can’t seem to get anywhere.

Bad service within the bank. You sit and wait and no one asks you what you need, as if it doesn't matter that you're waiting, they just look at you and that's it. I recommend using the ATM, it is more attentive than the bank staff.

Worst customer service ever had appointment at 9:45am to open a new account, got here at 9:45am doors were locked. They opened at 10am they came to open the door at 10am and they said I was late that I had to reschedule like I have the time to come whenever they say, I was waiting for this appointment for about a week. The manager said I was late and that was considered still late, even though it wasn’t my fault. I will give them 0 stars if I could.

Place sucks!!! Makes it so difficult to make payments and everyone tries to act polite but cant hide the hatred inside their souls. Avoid this place at all cost.

Best credit union out of them all. I had Golden 1 for five years until unfortunately my account was closed for being overdrawn at no fault of my own. At that time, times were hard and I only made about $250 a week at my job. I couldn't afford to drive my car that's how bad it was! I had a couple of bills that I forgot to cancel so they overdrew my account and I just didn't have the means to cover the funds. But I love this bank and will be coming back again one day.

This is the worse customer service that I’ve ever experienced at any golden 1 branch.

I came in the branch to finish enrollment for my partner on a Saturday. We came early to prevent the long wait time. We were seen within 20 min for not having an appointment .

Jeniffer started to help us, and it took awhile for us to verify the documents, because we started our application online. Rebecca from the online help desk, had to assist us so it added to the amount of time we had to spend on opening an account. 11am rolls around and she says she has to take a break because her manager, Adriana, was urging her to. Mind you it’s only 1 hour of being open and she somehow has to leave us to take a break and accommodate another appointment?! Jeniffer should have been the one to help us finish our enrollment, and then take that same amount of time and patience with the next guest.

I have never had to experience this type of customer service, where we come early and they have to dismiss us for someone else, even though we just came for an enrollment! What a horrible first impression. She only had to print our card and take our deposit .

Jeniffer told us to have a seat, and that someone would bring our card out for us.

Then, after nearly another hour of waiting, Jeniffer told us that the manager, Adriana, was starting to question her asking her why we were sitting down. She told us that we had to get in line for our card. I was livid at this point, because the line had reached the door, and I could have stayed gone in line the entire if it wasn’t for her telling me someone would bring out the card.

She advised us to wait until her appointment was over since she was just finishing up. When her appointment was done, she brought us into her office, and we set a pin, but she said we needed two to three minutes to allow the card to print. MORE WAITING FOR PRINTING! We finally grabbed our card and they didn’t give us any supporting documents, so no account number no routing number. The manager just handed my partner the card and said that we were good to go and the card was active.

Never have I gone to a bank and opened up an account, where I didn’t leave with the account information and routing number. They gave such horrible service and their prioritization to business was completely unorganized.

They really need to get it together there…. From the tellers down to the managers!

I can’t believe we didn’t look at the reviews before we decided to come into this branch. Go somewhere else because this might just be the worse Golden 1 branch
