This is the worst HOA company in San Francisco. We haven't heard back about getting our name on the screen. Emails have been sent about broken windows and no one responds to us. It's been a nightmare dealing with them.

May we curse here? I can't say enough bad things about them. If you want to attempt to deal with a faceless, non-local, and often non-responsive bureaucracy, this is the company for your HOA. Along with the HOA board, they appeared to be involved in proposing an enormous assessment for a repair later determined to be unnecessary after pushback from HOA member owners. There must be better options.

This company is completely unorganized, unprofessional, and extremely harmful to employees and customers. Leaders in my division were unprofessional and hired/promoted employees on a whim without verifying any qualifications, leading to a ridiculous turnover rate and public firings. Within one year, we went through three different GMs. The final FS employee who was randomly appointed the position of AGM stopped showing up for work and gave no excuse for her absence. The regional VP, Shane Gillaspie, refused to acknowledge where she was for over a month but continued to pay her a regular salary. Our community master board filed a complaint about this, along with many other acts of fraud by FSR. They did not value employee retention at all and senior leaders outside of my division had no idea that any of us even existed. HR leaders acted inappropriately on a consistent basis and contributed significantly to a hostile and toxic work environment. I was given a salary offer on two different occasions during my years of employment and those offers were never actualized. I wasn't given a computer, training, or even the name of my supervisor for the first month of employment. I was told to "bear with them" for many months. The community where I worked was embarrassed to to be represented by FirstService and eventually terminated their contract after over a year of complete chaos and mismanagement. Most of my fellow employees chose to stay with the community under their own management instead of following FirstService because it was such a traumatic and ridiculous experience. I would never recommend anyone to work for this company under any circumstances.

I live at a FirstService Residential property in San Francisco/SOMA and have nothing but great things to say about the concierge service I receive from all of the building staff. In particular, Kim San Jose is a standout property manager who I am quite fond of and only had pleasant interactions with over the course of several years. She continues to always deliver top-notch service and makes living at this property a wonderful experience!

This fine group of men and women that service the Lumina Buildings are fantastic. They engage with our residents, are super helpful and are each amazing people in their own right. I will certainly miss many of our lobby hosts, but Dorotea, Charles, Aleli, Kenn, Sean and Kim come to mind right now. The housekeeping staff are also amazing as are the loading dock guys. I feel priviledged to be in this community with these amazing people!

I lived at a First Service Residential building in San Francisco. Shannon Wong was our community site manager and she was wonderful! Shannon is organized, friendly and makes living in our community wonderful! She always greets everyone with a smile and is very professional. Thanks for making our community a great place to live, Shannon!

FirstService Residential have been servicing my building at the Radiance for years. EJ (facilities manager) is amazing and always there to help a hand from repairing/replacing my back door lock, ceiling lights, and my kitchen sink; last week he even helped me carry my couch out to the curb when recology was coming to pick it up at 6 am. We have had other property managers / service personnel prior to FirstService, but they are hands down the best.
