This review is long overdue for the Vue’s maintenance team and Tim (head of concierge) who are the most pleasant and helpful people. The maintenance team all do a great job, but most of the work in my unit has been done by Cesar who is very professional and efficient. My work orders are always immidiately addressed after requesting and very quickly resolved and closed.

The maintenance team is always so excellent with helping us fix any issues in our apartment. Cesar is always here the next day after our work order is placed as well asks if their is any additional assistance needed while working on our current issue. Thank you to the Vue and all the amazing staff.

We did not end up renting an apartment here.
Although the outside looks awesome, it’s old inside; the apartments they gave us a tour had smelly carpets with very old kitchen appliances and cabinets.
The view from the balconies is great.

We had a great experience with its staff and security but unfortunately, the apartment is not what we were looking for.

The amenities are nice!
The neighborhood is lovely and close to LA little Italy and has a walk distance to San Pedro downtown.

I was excited to move in 8 months ago. While the staff are pretty responsive and professional, I received a notice of rent increase.
We are still settling into our home and already have notice of a rent increase. It's pretty disappointing that corporations continue to want more and more. Very disheartening. I think we are good tenants, at least let us get comfortable. The hot water was off for at least 2 weeks within the short time I have lived here which they did fix, but was very inconvenient. The ac leaked water all over the place which spilled all over my rug, which they did fix. Look, I'm not going to trash the place, but there are things that can be improved like the outdated gym, the endless rules to name a few...Now they want more money... We spend 4k a month ... Not sure if we will renew....
-Just Plain Disappointed.

Moved out March 2017 after two years. Greystar management will really try to nickel and dime every penny out of you. Originally they wanted to charge me $2400 as my closing dues. Eff that! So I bitched, and complained, and they revised their total. New move out total ... $496. That is for 6 days pro rate minus the $1100 deposit. $414 to have that crappy carpet replaced (I was expecting that one), $100 dollars for wall painting when I didn't even hang anything. At the end, it wasn't worth fighting over anymore. Goes to show though, it pays to argue sometimes. Pay attention or Greystar will try to jack you!

* high rent
* low utilities
* very quiet and well insulted (I rarely heard my neighbors) for an urban environment
* TINY washer/dryers that take forever (feel bad for big families)
* cheap carpet that stains easily (should get hardwoods or laminate)
* great view, nice patios
* Senfuku sushi, absolutely the best around south bay
* pet friendly (report barking dogs)
* water pipes constantly break and shut down the building (poor design)

As far as smoking goes? I don't really care that people sometimes smoke weed in their units or on their decks, people better get used to it now that California is legalized. What is more bothersome in my books is that people sometimes smoke cigarettes on their decks, I left my patio door and windows open most of the time so when someone is smoking nearby, it can stink up pretty bad. Super DISRESPECTFUL if you are reading this neighbor. Used to smoke sometimes, but took it to the curb because I'm not a jerk. It's not always easy to figure which unit it's coming from, but if you can, Guest Services will get on them.

Manager Tim at guest services is the man, someone should give him a raise and a Xmas bonus. All of the rest of the Vue crew have been cool. Considering how many units there are, the building is pretty clean. Some tenants are just rude and never learned how to clean up after themselves ... Mind your manners rich kids. Who just leaves trash anywhere but a garbage can?!? During normal business hours, the cleaning staff is generally on it although they think the only thing that can be recycled is cardboard, they throw everything else in the trash.

Other things ... Yeah, the speed bumps are super annoying. I think the grill bars on the rooftop BBQs need to be replaced. Elevators are super fast and cleaned at least once a day. I wish the units had hardwoods, laminate or tile instead of carpet, but I understand it's probably to reduce foot noise. The dishwasher units could use upgrading (cheap models). The refrigerator is spacious, quiet and efficient.

All in all I liked living at the Vue, it has a nice beat. Convenient to the 110 and Long Beach. Torrance is cool if you're willing to explore it. Plenty of street parking for your guests unless there's an event happening near by.

The pool is mildly heated, and the spa is hot. Can get busy during the warmer months, it's a party! The gym is a plus (fix that broken cycle), package delivery is easy (I currently don't pay anything for their locker system). Typical to LA, there are transient homeless in the area, but they are harmless, nothing compared to downtown LA or Long Beach. The neighborhood feels safe and some of the streets have cute little stores and restaurants to eat and shop at. Hidden little gem, around the corner ... Senfuku Japanese/sushi is absolutely some of the best in all of LA, you'll understand this if you like good sushi. The owner is a real sushi master and buys his fish exclusive.

Although industrial, the port view is amazing, especially from the roof. The city has some big plans to change the neighboring waterfront for future commerce. Kind of sad to see what's there now disappearing. San Pedro is a microclimate, so it's always a little cooler there than central LA or Long Beach.

The maintenance guy, Cesar G., is an excellent professional! He helped us fix both the toilet and the dishwasher very quickly. His efficiency and friendly attitude made the whole experience stress-free. Highly recommend!

****Review Update**** The property management company has changed and I would not recommend moving here now. My husband and I were scheduled to move out in December after living here for 2.5 years. We had wanted to stay but go to a larger unit, however they were insisting upon a $500 unit change fee. (Even though they were offering two months free to new tenants. I wasn't asking for this promo, just to sign a new lease in a new unit after 2.5 years) This solidified my decision to move.
Unfortunately during the time of our move out we both got very sick and my husband was hospitalized. We were unable to move out on our original date. We had to stay for another month, they raised the rate of that one month by $300 (All while advertising our unit for rent for LESS than we were regularly paying) This was the second strike against "Waterton Management"

We have now been out of our unit for three months, and every time we call to ask about our deposit and move out inspection they do not know who was in charge of handling it because they were "in between management." As far as we know, no move out inspection was ever done. They have no record of it. At this point they are in violation of CA law, they have 21 days to provide us with the deposit or detailed listing of charges incurred during the walk through. We are at 90 days.

After these three incidences I would not trust starting a lease with a company who is not trustworthy and is likely to continue to nickel and dime residents. The staff was all very pleasant and seemed to truly want to help, however the policies of the management company seems to be the issue and they are unable to.

The Vue is probably the best kept secret for apartment homes in the Southbay. The high rise style building is beautiful, upon arriving in the lobby you will feel like you walked into a boutique hotel. The amenities here cannot be beat including a rooftop lounge overlooking the harbor. The units themselves are very modern with stainless steel appliances.
I originally looked at the Vue when my apartment lease was up a year ago, but ultimately decided not to move at that time. However, I thought about the Vue the entire last year and knew I would be moving here at the end of my current lease. When I came back, my leasing agent Dori actually remembered me! It is the entire staff here that makes this complex five star! Dori helped me pick the perfect unit and even sent me measurements for furniture placement before I moved in. The entire process was seamless and the easiest move in experience I have ever had.
The resident services staff is phenomenal as well, both Tim and Eric have gone out of their way to help with the move. Tim helped with concerns about furniture move in and parking spots and helped ease the move in stress. Eric helped me set up an appointment for the freight elevator and even walked us out in the rain to see where our parking spot would be.

I am so glad I made the decision to come live at the Vue! If you are moving to the area come check it out, and I highly suggest asking for Dori. She is a wealth of information and will make you feel so welcome.

Cesar G was great! I had an emergency problem in my unit that needed to get fixed and he came right away to get the job done quickly and efficiently. He was very polite and explained to me what he was doing to get the job done properly. Thank you Cesar for your support and service.
