I just wanted to let other customers know that Monterra Credit Union has a problem with admitting their errors.
My car payment was$_ _ _.27 cents. Because my car is used for business I always send 2 checks, one on my business account for _ _ _ and one on my personal account for _ _ _ and 27 cents.
They processed the checks for 22 cents not the 27 written on the check.... no big deal mistakes happen, however they then sent me a very harsh letter telling me I under paid by 5 Cents. I called and told them the mistake was on their end not mine and I had a copy of my check to prove it. They thanked me and said everything was straightened out....not the case, they then sent a very nasty letter that said my entire car loan was in default over said 5 cents. I sent a copy of the check to them and they finally corrected the balance due.
Like a good business man, I requested that since they could make a mistake and send me 2 nasty letters over 5 cents that an officer of the Credit Union could send a short letter of apology...this request was given 4 times and I'm still waiting for that letter.
I was going to put a lot of money in CD's with them, but that will never happen. Maybe their upper management needs a refresher course in customer care!

Dealing with financial institutions can be cumbersome, difficult, time consuming and impersonable. Not Terry Zhang, from the Lending Department at SMCU! Terry helped me with a loan product, that was suitable for my needs. He communicated well with me through out the process, and all the way through issuance. If you're looking for a personal lending partner, look no further than Terry!

Call center for financial assistance has been the worst experience so far. A woman rudely hung up on me after me saying I did not want to get sent to voicemail but did it either way. By far the worst experience with SMCU.

Due to a web site update they have been unable to service member accounts and do not return calls to correct online issues that do not allow members to sign in.
