I've been with Golden One for years, Great bank if you need to handle banking online or if you need to speak to a teller by phone. Always great service and I would give five stars to that area. Today I went into this bank to deposit my payroll check, since I've been depositing my checks for YEARS and today, I'm reminded why I don't walk into a physical bank in Gilroy (closed now) or Salinas, but the condescending comments took a toll on me today. 1. Yes, I know I can deposit my checks via ATM or Mobile App. I freely chose not to and freely wanted come in person to handle my banking needs. 2. No one has ever told me I need to keep more money in the account before. 3. I have no control over my employer’s banking practices and I shouldn't have to endure comments regarding my employer’s ability to provide direct deposit. That is at the discretion of my employer. I feel so reduced as a customer. I'm still shaking my head asking my coworker if they have this much issue with their payroll checks and their banks, and the answer is no. Just to let you know, I have shared my experience with my employer and your "recommendations", I will try to keep more money in my account, even though I provide for my son in college and I will try using the ATM when I need to deposit cash even if I don't feel safe doing so. Thank you again.

This is the only atm and branch in monterey county and it is not convenient. The people are nice and usually very helpful but too often the atm isn't working or or won't accept my cash deposits. I live 18 miles away and this is very stressful. I like banking at a credit union but I maybe looking for a different bank very soon.

Usually a bit of a line when I got to go in. I think I usually see two tellers. I recommend keeping any receipts for payments made. Staff is friendly and efficient. No complaints from me.
