TL;DR: Hatch Property Management has been incredible! From the moment I reached out through the first year of service, I couldn't ask for more. If you are looking for a property manager, I highly recommend Hatch!

I moved away from VA in 2021 and had close friends living at my property for almost 3 years. I was "managing" the property from long distance and it was stressful even with friends as tenants. When my friends moved out, a NoVA realtor friend suggested Hatch so I reached out and was immediately impressed me. They have created a robust management system that is completely hands off from the property owner (me) perspective. They don't just manage the property, but they also have a service for the renters that makes renting easy. Essentially a win win for everyone. The cost per month is below all of the other companies I looked at and they priced the rent really well. At the year mark they had the home inspected to ensure the tenant was taking care of the house and also to determine if there was any maintenance needed from a safety standpoint. The lease renewal process was smooth and the tenants were happy enough to renew their lease.

I think we’ve used every bit of Hatch Property Management’s services, and they have all been phenomenal. During a scouting trip to DC for a rental property we encountered a Hatch Property Management rental. Sarah Hatch worked with us to get us into a property and location that would fit our needs, and then walked us through the DC rental market. We rented the property for three years with Hatch managing a major roof revision, any repairs needed, and attentively safeguarded the property owner’s investment. Three years into our rental, we purchased the property, and became homeowners. Sarah Hatch walked us through all of the process, including setting up a virtual notarization so that one of us could sign while away from home, and made sure that we were guided through the process. Later, we moved away from the DC area, and once again, Sarah Hatch managed the rental property. Her team guided us through the preparation of the property, made sure it was gleaming when it was listed, and was able to secure a rental price that was good for our wallet and good for our investment and reasonable for the market. During the course of the tenancy, we were promptly notified of any repairs, the payments from the rental property were made on time, and the property was gleaming when it was vacated. We have once and for all left DC behind, and wanted to give another family an opportunity to become homeowners. Once again, we turned to Hatch, and we listed the property with Hatch, and once again, Sarah took care of all of the details. She is a determined negotiator, persistent with her demands and guidance. I don’t think I will ever find another property management company that can deliver in all categories, but Hatch does.

I have lived in many rental properties over the years and have never encountered a management team as organized as Hatch. They are incredibly responsive, easy to navigate, and considerate of my rights as a tenant. When we moved into our home, there were a few maintenance issues and repairs that needed to be taken care of, and the Hatch team immediately took action. Mary Dick specifically went above and beyond to make sure everything was being addressed correctly and quickly. She’s been supportive, incredibly considerate, and is a great communicator. She navigated what could have been a nightmare situation with ease and we are thankful for her help!

We have been living in our new house , managed by Hatch Property Management in Alexandra VA for 2 months now. Our experience could not have been more positive. Few issues that needed attention where dealt with, quickly and professionally. Someone form the Management team is always available and Sarah (the owner) is extremely knowledgeable, professional, always ready to help and support. Hatch property management is a great company!! I live in a rental property that they manage and they are always very attentive to any repairs/issues that come up with the house! We have recently worked closely with Mary D in regards to some window blinds. She came to our home and personally installed several new blinds. She has been absolutely lovely to work with. She even bonded with my 4 year old daughter during her visits to the house!! She was so understanding and easy to work with!! Thank you so much Mary!!!! You are the best!!! My 4 year old wants to invite you to her birthday party next year!!

I cannot express how disappointed I am with Hatch Property Management. From the moment we moved in, it was clear that this company does not care about its tenants or the properties they manage.

First and foremost, the property was not cleaned or inspected before we arrived. We walked into a place that was filthy and clearly had not been maintained. There were significant safety concerns that should have been addressed prior to our move-in, but it seemed like the management was completely oblivious to these issues. We had a house inspector come by about 8 months into our lease who found outdated firearms and a dryer that was “a significant fire risk”. I expressed these concerns to only be meet with “maybe try not to use the dryer” and when asked if a safety inspection was conduced prior to our move in their maintenance team explicitly said “no”.

Whenever we tried to reach out for assistance, we were met with non-responsiveness and rudeness. At one point I went over a month with no response to a question I had. It was incredibly frustrating to deal with a team that seemed more interested in ignoring our concerns than actually helping us. On top of that, they attempted to scam us into paying a maintenance fee for services that were rarely provided. It felt like we were being taken advantage of at every turn.

To add insult to injury, when we moved out, they deducted $600 from our security deposit for a cleaning fee. This was absolutely outrageous, as we left the property significantly cleaner than we found it. It’s clear that they are more interested in lining their pockets than in providing a fair and honest service.

I would strongly advise anyone considering renting from Hatch Property Management to think twice. Save yourself the headache and look elsewhere. This company is unprofessional, unresponsive, and downright dishonest.

First I would like to say, this is coming from someone who has moved over 7 times in my life. The Hatch Property Management and Sales is amazing to work with! They made my transition into my new place smooth and easy! Jose Leiva was professional and supportive for all my questions and assisted me with any help I needed! I cannot thank the team enough. I would recommend anyone to work with them!
