Don't use this bank if you don't wish to be charged excessive fees and have no access to your account online or even through their Telebanc system. I wanted to have a local bank account so I unfortunately opened an account at National Bank of Blacksburg last fall with my other account at American Express National Bank. In April, someone attempted to commit fraud on my account with a fake deposit into my checking account at National Bank. The deposit was rejected and I immediately closed the account in question and opened a new account with a new account number. Nonetheless, I was told that I would not be able to use online banking or even Telebanc for six months. Then the bank sends me multiple overdraft letters on this new account. In the letter it says "please check you balance". How can I do that, I have no access to the account! You terminated my access to the account. This is the stupidest policy and procedure I have ever experienced with a bank. I have not written any checks, or authorized any charges to this new account. I have no idea what is going on because of this, but one thing for sure, I am done with National Bank. I am taking my business elsewhere. The policies of National Bank to terminate someone's access to their own account for six months because of an act some outsider attempted to commit and yet keep sending you charges for an account you don't even use is absolutely ridiculous. The account number was changed! Whomever the bad actor was does not have any access to the new account number! There are too many other banks in town to put up with this nonsense!
