My experience with Sandy Spring Bank was an absolute disaster. We applied for a small business loan back in December last year and provided all the required documents without any omissions. However, the person handling our application, Micheal Vandergrift, kept coming up with ridiculous and invalid excuses to deliberately delay our loan. This bank, particularly the underwriting department, is utterly unprofessional, unreliable, and clearly not doing their job properly.

They intentionally postponed our loan every single week. And the amount we requested wasn’t even a huge figure. Here we are, almost finishing March, and this bank still hasn’t processed our loan. Think about it—4 months have passed, and I seriously doubt they even bothered to properly review the documents we submitted. How can a loan not be approved in 4 months? There is simply no reasonable explanation for such a delay.

Even after all this nonsense, we were willing to put our home on the line by agreeing to a mortgage. But still, this bank and its employees continued to drag the process out. At this point, we have concluded that Sandy Spring Bank is entirely untrustworthy. Neither their staff nor the bank itself can be trusted. They completely lack honesty and professionalism.

To make matters worse, Micheal Vandergrift even mentioned that the bank is being acquired by another institution. So, things are so bad that even their own employees are complaining about the situation. The bank’s system is terrible, and they have absolutely no concept of honest banking.

If you don’t want to deal with an untrustworthy, amateurish, and dishonest service, stay far away from Sandy Spring Bank!
