Sorry for the long post and all the pics but I just want to give a very honest review and warn people of the rental company we rented from before buying.. Remax Prattville Paul Harper - Re/Max Properties Laura Phillips, RE/MAX Properties HWB Properties I have always rented up until buying the home we are in now and I’ve never had a more horrible experience. Let’s start with how we received the home. It was filthy (pics below). The day we received the keys we were told it would be cleaned before we moved in which was 2 days after we received keys. I was almost 7 months pregnant when we moved in and was on my hands and knees scrubbing this home. We had nowhere else to go. Our previous lease was up so I just had to make do. We call and complained and they sent someone to clean the kitchen and the kitchen only. They fixed the blinds but not without telling us that we were being dramatic. A week after moving in we started having plumbing issues that were later blamed on us when they had to have the yard dug up. I reached out to the previous renter who said they wished they could’ve warned us not to move there. Their exact words were “GET OUT”. They stated the plumbing problems were there when they were there and they would never fix them. From the pics below you can see a huge hole in the pipe coming from the house that had been covered up by a sheet of metal the last time they “fixed it”. Now that we have moved out we were hoping they would do the right thing and give us our deposit back especially since we left the house in much better condition than what we got it in. Everyone who knows me I don’t not keep an unclean home and I always do the right thing. We took very good care of that home and I did a deep clean when we moved out. Per the lease we did not have to pay for cleaning if we left it in the condition we obtained it in and we left it better. They charged us $150 for cleaning. They also charged us $525 to fill in “holes” from pictures (we used pin nails) we hung and told could be hung I have proof of that in an email and to repaint the walls. We left nothing wrong with the walls and the paint job they did before we moved in was horrible and they actually left the paint there and we left it for them. No where in the lease does it say we were responsible for that. They have screwed us over completely. Paul and Laura both were always awful to work with and were always very very rude. Would never look my husband in his face or speak to him. Please steer away from them went renting or buying.

PLEASE do NOT rent or buy from these people. My coworker went out to view one of their properties. She got the house before her husband arrived. Off the rip, the showing lady I believe to be Laura, started stereotyping my coworker. My coworker is a black pregnant female. The first words that came out of Ms. Laura's mouth was "you definitely don't look like what I expected." Luckily the husband didn't hear that comment. They continue with the showing & the husband was asking all the questions regarding the house. Ms. Laura made it seem like they can't afford the house by saying how much everything was. Well when they got the money side of things, he gave the lady his check stubs & looked him funny about it. She then looked at my coworker & rudely asked her what she did for a living. Like she was just another pregnant baby mama. She tried to call them broke before seeing if they could even afford the house. Then looked at them funny when she the vehicles they were driving because they were driving up to date luxury vehicles. This is a horrible way to treat a potential client. Judging from the other reviews, this lady doesn't care about anybody at all. If I could do more about this then I definitely would because this is absolutely unacceptable. Please keep your distance from these people.
