I waited to make a review on this company because I am not one to want to give a company a bad review unless it is deserving but this company came up and the instant wave of frustration came back.
This company over promises and under delivers EVERY step of their process. I was referred to this company from a lender that I trusted and the biggest headache I had to deal with throughout my process was this company. None of the workers are on the same page. Supervisors will jump in and ‘try to help’ but make things even more jumbled. Each employee contradicts what they other has said. There was not one time where THEY set an expectation that it was actually on time and every situation whoever you talk to will point the finger at either you or ANYONE else. Their customer service is below average and all of the workers were very entitled and borderline rude. They are a very lazy company who will inconvenience their customers instead of doing their job to the full potential. This was my first time dealing with an escrow company and it was in a high stress situation and this company made the process more difficult because of their ego’s getting in the way. They do have many years under their belt and is their go to line ‘I’ve been doing this for x amount of years’ but again, no one is on the same page, they contradict each other and very unorganized.
I would give this company negative stars if available and strongly suggest to take your business elsewhere.

The entire office has issues. From Tina on the phone not being clear about fees and needs when trying to pick a time to get paperwork signed. To the elderly gentleman working through the actual signing, there are issues all around.
Be up front about times and fees for signing escrow paperwork. Tina was abrasive on the phone when trying to get a schedule together and was difficult to work with. We were told to bring routing information to transfer funds into out account, but was never told that there was a few for that. I had to ask specific questions to find out if theh can come to us for signing and was only told then that there was a few for them coming to us. Just be up front. Why make us have to fish for information.
The gentleman who signed paperwork with us, took forever. He was the only one to say there was a few for transferring the money into our account.
The escrow company closed our HELOC without having a conversation about it when they paid it, and then was again abrasive over the phone when we called to ask about it.
During the closing process, we had difficulty just getting emails to be sent to the correct place. If the email is the first and last name at gmail, and the name is all over our paperwork, why is it difficult to get the necessary information.
Also, they are not wearing masks in the office, they only put masks on when they come to open the door.
Not doing business with them again, this was one of the worst refinancing experiences we have had.

DO not use Des Moines Escrows. Due your due diligent and shop around first before signing. You have the rights to shop for title and escrow companies like you would shop for any thing (such as home insurance, car, interest rates, and etc). If you are going to use Des Moines Escrow, have them send you their fees schedule first and go to different title and escrow companies to compare their fees, don't let them give you lame excuses and allow them talk to you into signing final documents and hoping they will keep their promises to adjust their fees. You'll be surprise of their additional fees and blame is on the lenders or someone else or even stating that its mandatory fees when its not.
