I just met Jerry and he immediately started treating me poorly. I was being respectful but I couldnt get reciprocity out of him. I locked the kitchen because of theives and was willing to give a spare to the maintainance man who lost it for the person moving in who would share it with me but they insisted it was not mine to lock and to keep it in my room if Im worried about it. He also accused my kids of playing in the roof. Funny thing I only have one son and he has never been to Wyoming. They dont offer security in any way and four postal packages in two months have been stolen from the mail area. ALSO something they wont be responcible in any way for. I DID NOT DESERVE THEY WAY I WAS TREATED THIS MORNING AT ALL!!!!

Another company that leaves listings up online when they have already rented them out, still collects the application fees for them with no intention of renting, and I believe they rotate through several ghost listings only to collect more non-refundable application fees. This is a problem with companies here in Laramie. You can transfer the application fee, but even if you do, you probably won’t get into a place. They won’t call and offer any explanations or help, they don’t communicate with each other in the office, and will lie about what they are doing/waiting for on their end. They required my spouse to apply as well, which doubled the fee. Imagine how many struggling people they steal from with just one false listing. This is not the only company in town that does this. Beware. Those who experience this should report/complain to the Wyoming Attorney General Consumer Protection and Antitrust Unit!

We rented from Real Estate 1 for almost 3 years. I would highly recommend them to anyone. Repair requests were always done promptly and when there was a delay, we were kept informed. My wife asked about an upgrade to the main bathroom and shower. RE1 came through and rebuilt the bathroom including new flooring and a new larger shower. We just bought a home in Larame and moved on. RE1 gave us Our deposit back after we cleaned the Apt. Real Estate 1 is the best in Larame. Rick Martin, CBET

TL;DR: Don't rent from them unless you see no other reasonable option.
Long version:
Bads:
1. I lived around 5 years in Laramie and I rented from them all these five years (3 different apartments though). The only reason you might want to go with them is the fact that you cannot find any other option (they have fairly cheaper apartments than other real estates) or at some point the cost/energy for moving sorta outweighs the benefits of moving.
2. Except a few people (one of their maintenance guy is sweet as hell, if you read this man, salut to you), most of the people they are working with are literally rude and horrible people. They do not value your time. Multiple times I set meeting with them in advance and they always miss it somehow (They don't even try to come up with a fake apology that we did miss it and we are sorry, LOL).
3. They always find a way to get your deposit money deducted, even if you lick the house until it shines. No matter how much you clean the apartment, they will find something. It is always about 100$-200$ so it is not even worth to sue them or something. You just say these people are scums and move on.
4. Sometimes they come to your house like SWAT team with no prior notice (you just need to delay 15 seconds to open the door).
Goods:
When you ask for maintenance, they are fairly quick about it. I did not have much problems with that.

They charged my card for rent in June when we moved out in May. I still have yet to receive my money back for this wrong charge or my deposit back and it is now July. An incredibly frustrating experience that has me never wanting to do business with them ever again and I would recommend for anyone to find a different company to rent from to avoid a situation like mine.

It's the cheapest in town for a reason I wish I could leave negative stars. Under no circumstances should you ever use their auto payment system In danger of being charged, multiple times in the same month. Nothing like having my debit card bounce while trying to buy a single red bull....

Terrible customer service! I lived in one of their apartments for a year and had an issue with my dryer and it took nearly 3 months to get it fixed, including many many phone calls. That’s not even the worst part. My apartment had mice, and mice in the walls. I killed three mice with mousetraps and mentioned it to the office, nothing was done. For lack of proper terminology, real estate one is akin to slum lords. Raising rent on low quality apartments regardless of improvements is baffling, be better.

DO NOT RENT FROM THIS AGENCY! I recently moved from one of these rentals and it was a giant mess. For starters, my place was dirty when I moved in. There was dirt all over the floor, the drip pans on the stove were dirty, and whenever I tried to use the oven it smelled like something was burning when I turned it on. The bathroom had rust on the metal accessories and there were water spots on the ceiling from not having a fan in the bathroom. The fridge was ancient, my boyfriend did some digging and found out it was from the 50's. Which meant the oven was also really old, as it NEVER cooked my food correctly.
When I was in contact with the company about a sublease, they said they would call when they sent paperwork and NEVER did. There were also numerous times that I called and no one answered or called back. Fast forward to subleasing my apartment, a friend from high school was interested, called, and put in an application. A week later the agency called me to set up a viewing for a different person. I told them that there was already an application in for the sublease and they insisted that it was her fault and that she didn't put in an application... Three applications later they FINALLY got her set up.
The apartment had hardwood floors so I went in to the agency to make sure I didn't need a cleaning service and I was treated like I was illiterate. I was told that, "the checkout paperwork said I needed to leave a receipt for the carpet cleaners in a self addressed and stamped envelope". After that had been sorted out they explained all I needed was the self addressed envelope. A month after I moved out I received my deposit only to find I had been SHORTED $110 for "cleaning services". I had thoroughly wiped down ALL surfaces, swept and mopped, and cleaned out the fridge ensuring that the lessee after me moved in to a clean apartment. I even took the measures to replace the broken plastic toilet seat that was left when I moved in AND replaced the drip pans on the stove. Brand new. I was told that the cleaners had to come in and clean the bathroom ceiling because of the stains. The stains were there when I moved in and the bathroom was very small so being charged $90 for labor itself is absolutely ridiculous. I could tell that the place had not been cleaned before I moved in because as I was sweeping under the stove, I found a whole charging block and chord, among the filth that was built up under it. If you've made it this far into my rating, or just scrolled to the bottom, do yourself a favor and look elsewhere, whether you are looking to move or move your college student over to Laramie, rent from a better agency.
