Opened an account on Feb. 6, then I get a letter dated Feb. 10 saying they are closing my account and telling me "not to make any future attempt to open an account with Arvest Bank." It literally says that, and they've locked me out of logging into the account online. No explanation. Arvest Bank seems like one shady institution.

I called the Arvest bank on 1/16/2024 and spoke with a Representative over the phone regarding a Credit Card application and asked a question since I don't live in the states where the Bank has branches so, Can I apply for a credit card she told me on hold for several minutes and advised me to go ahead and submit the application online.
I did submit my application as she told and after a while, I got an email they had declined my application for the same reason that I don't live in those local cities. This is the most unprofessional bank one can interact with, If they don't serve the area why they are allowing and advising the customer to apply?
Also, there is nowhere in the application process or in the whole website you can find such information that customers from other states are not eligible for the application. I would honestly never deal with this bank again regardless even if they decide to expand to other states with such ridiculous customer service they could have at least not made a credit inquiry on my credit report as they don't serve the area but like I said this bank is a Joke and so is there process.
