Trash is a constant and reoccurring issue

- I was told to keep my trash at home or add to the pile.

-Alight will not take responsibility for litter in the neighboring park.

- Alight is not taking proactive steps to clean the environment, As Trash remains scattered across the lot, and into water ways, despite’s the issue ā€œresolvedā€

- There was an expectation that I would take time away from my job and to do alights job.

Attached is a direct quote from management.

ā€œI must express my disappointment that I did not see your assistance in the trash clean-up while others did step up to help. If the situation was indeed a significant concern for you, I would have expected your participation in resolving it.ā€

I will start with the good before addressing the bad since there is much less positive to report. First, having a personal bathroom along with in-unit washer and dryer is very convenient and a nice amenity. Unfortunately, that is where the good ends. My move-in date was August 18th, but I was told I would still have to pay for the full month of August because each apartment would be professionally deep cleaned before being move-in ready. This would be understandable if it had actually happened. Two days before move-in, I received an email stating that our apartment was partially occupied and would not be deep cleaned. When I moved in, the apartment was absolutely filthy. I didn’t even want to bring my food or personal belongings into the apartment due to the conditions (see photos). So I paid the extra money for August rent for nothing.

The next issue is the move-out process. As I previously described, the apartment was in terrible condition at move-in, and at move-out, they tried to charge me for everything they could: blinds that were broken at move-in, holes in the wall present at move-in, etc. I filled out a move-in survery/review detailing this but nothing was ever done. I also spent 3+ hours deep cleaning my bathroom and bedroom before move-out, only to be charged a cleaning fee. It wouldn't have mattered if I had hired a professional cleaning company—they would have charged me anyway. If you are moving out of this place, do not bother cleaning because no matter how good of a job you do, you will be charged anyway, so save your time. I am currently in the middle of an argument disputing damages present at move-in which I am currently being charged for despite having timestamp photos of the damages.

The trash situation is completely out of control. The trash compactor maybe worked for a third of the year, and the rest of the time they used waste bins which were almost constantly overflowing, especially at move-in and move-out. You would think they would have learned by now that these dates produce higher volumes of trash, but apparently not; wherever they can cut corners, I guess. On top of that, expecting tenants to help with the trash clean-up is insane; that is not the tenants' job whatsoever and is 100% the facility's responsibility.

The package system is a huge pain. I received multiple packages where I was never notified by the front desk. Every time I approached the front desk, they would check the computer and tell me they didn’t have it. I would then go down a rabbit hole, calling shipping companies trying to figure out where my package was, only to find out it was delivered. It would have taken two seconds to walk over and check, but instead, they would just tell me they didn’t have it.

I would not recommend living here unless it’s your last option. Try absolutely anywhere else.

This will be my third year living at Alight, I had a really amazing move-in, my apartment was in good condition and it is so nice to have my own bathroom! Maintenance requests have been handled quickly and as efficiently as possible, which has been a huge plus for me. The location also is super convenient, being decently close to campus as well as shopping and food options.

Alight is far and away the best apartment complex in Laramie. My move in experience here vs at the dorms or other complexes is night and day, you will have a much better experience with the staff here.

Terrible apartments. Take your business to somewhere else like the social, the point. Says $549 for rent but it’s actually $749 very scummy people with awful business practices. READ WHAT YOU ARE SIGNING

I lived at alight for 1 year. That is all I could stand of this place. They offer a lot of amenities that only 40% are actually usable and worth it. Its so nice to have a pet but no one ever picks up after their pets. They took away their Saturday hours so good luck with getting anything delivered until monday. They severely over charge on rent for the area. They announced half way through my lease that for the next year they were increasing from $620 to $720 per person. They added no amenities or perks that would warrant that much of an increase.

The compactor worked maybe half the time i lived there and the dumpsters were always overflowing. This meant there was always trash blowing around the complex. They never seemed to have a way to get rid of all the trash so on top of the overflowing dumpsters there was a pile of trash.

I needed to move in early for my job and despite paying rent for the whole month of august, they insisted to get into my unit a week early i would need to pay $200 in early move in fees. My roommate who was already on property had been living in the new place for a week. When i moved in there was damage in my room and the living room that needed to be immediately fixed. They had told me that it had already been cleaned and repairs made.

They give you a parking pass but dont enforce any rules regarding the pass. Non residents parked in residential areas and because they dont have enough parking in front of the buildings people would park in the handicap spots. Even the overflow parking was full, this meant parking on the street outside of the complex.

In theory the shuttle is great. It picks up at the complex on the hour and on the half and drops off at campus in every :15 and :45. The shuttle also broke in march and was out of operation until the end of the spring semester. The construction in campus made it so they changed the drop off location 3 different times.

If you’re currently living there id say cleaning is a waste because no matter how well you took care of it and cleaned they’re still going to charge you some ridiculous amount.

I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone not even someone i hated. I wouldn't wish this robbery on to anyone.

We've been living here for over 6 months now and it has been a wonderful experience. The staff is phenomenal: they are friendly, communicate and respond to concerns. Any repairs/issues are promptly addressed. Facilities are well maintained and nice. Location cannot be beat: right next to Pilot Hill Recreation Area. We will be sure to recommend Alight. Thank you for making this such a pleasant home!!

I’ll start with the things I did like bc there is not to many. Building 8 had good parking, having your own bathroom is nice, in addition the washer and dryer were both great amenities.
However the management of the place is truly awful. I moved into a disgusting apartment which was supposedly deep cleaned, as I paid the full moths rent in august only to move into the complex the 19th, as I understood it the full months rent went toward a ā€œdeep cleanā€. When I moved in the blinds were destroyed, took pictures of them in case I was charged and I ended up paying for them regardless.
When you move out no matter how throughly you clean you’ll get charged. Deep cleaned my bathroom, and room and ended up paying $60 in move out fees. In addition, alight told me I had a hole in my wall, which was false. I paid and additional $25 for. I also paid for ā€œpaint chippingā€ which was $80. I had no Chipped paint but they clearly look for ways to make extra money off everyone that leaves. Also there is dog poop all over the complex. Only reason they get two stars is bc having a walk in closet and personal bathroom is nice. Just be prepared to get screwed over on move out and possibly move in because they checked my move out but clearly didn’t check the people who moved out before me.
I’d give the social or the point a chance before alight for anyone looking for a place to live.
