STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I wish I could give this Bank 0 stars for customer service!! I was not able to receive a text message for a security code to log into my account. Customer service said I could not update my phone number to an international number (I had moved out of the country), and could not update the way to receive the code to my email either... essentially, I was completely locked out of my own account!! In order to receive a form via E-mail... they said it would take 3-5 business days!!! I tried to close my account since there was no way for me to access it being outside the US, and they said they could not verify my information so I would not be able to close my account either!!!!! Was told "an account specialist" would have to review my account and get back to me within a few DAYS. By the way no one can contact this department... there is apparently NO WAY to reach them, except for them sending an internal email and waiting 1-2 business days to be contacted back. By the way, they can't specify if you will be contacted via PHONE or email either!!!!

Con artists. Horrible customer service, they just read off a paper or something they memorized but can’t answer any questions. Didn’t cut me any slack during Covid when I wasn’t able to work. I definitely take some blame for accepting their ridiculous rate. Thank god I’m almost finished paying the car loan off. I definitely will never get another loan through them.

There are way too many APP problems for an internet bank/brokerage. If I have to call a couple of times a year due to account lockouts, it's time to move on to a more reliable
company. From the looks of your reviews, it looks like you
very well could be on your way out of business anyway.

I went to a different bank to refinance my car that I have a loan through ally with. The other bank said as soon as they received the fax with the pay off letter that I requested they would contact me. I was told by ally customer service that it would take 30-60 minutes for the fax to be submitted. I send faxes all day long, it does not take that long. It has been over 48 hours and the bank I want to refinance with has not received the fax. I spoke with an ally supervisor and she was even more unhelpful than the regular customer service reps. I will never go through ally again for a loan.Also my fiancé who is the primary account holder was deployed and the refused to uphold the scra (service member civil relief act) which would have temporarily lowered the interest. This company is incredibly disrespectful to its customers but also members of the military. I am appalled by the service of this company.

I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the service I have received regarding my recent refinance request. The delay in the transfer of my paperwork to the next bank has caused significant inconvenience and has hindered the progress of my refinance. After repeated assurances from Ally teams that all submissions were complete and finalized, I was surprised to learn several months later that no progress had been made. Despite my efforts to conclude our business relationship, they have insisted on prolonging it for over a year. I would not recommend doing business with this bank. They are not transparent and will provide misleading information to end conversations.

I am committed to sharing my experience across every platform available. I transferred a large sum of money on November 8th in preparation to request a cashier’s check to submit on November 25th. It was incredibly time-sensitive with high stakes, and customer service representatives assured me that the process was straightforward and could be completed within the time parameters. I paid a fee for expediting shipping, and over the next weeks (WEEKS!) I called and chatted with representatives multiple times per day to try to get shipping/tracking information for the cashier’s check. Each person I spoke with provided different information and estimates for arrival, but never a tracking number. I received the check on November 22nd. I never received any type of written confirmation or email from Ally of the check being processed or shipped. Representatives apologized repeatedly for the delay, but could never explain what caused it. The stress from this interaction with a very real deadline and implications was not worth any amount of interest accrual or online convenience that a bank could offer.

My sister recently opened an account with this bank and has 2 weeks of her money directly deposited, and she can't gain access to it because they locked it. She has already spoken to customer service explaining the situation, she answered the security questions and still no access. They even hung up the phone on her when she demanded they close her account and send her money back. This place is a nightmare! Do not bank with them. Just look at the majority of negative reviews they have

Flat out one of the worst companies I’ve ever had to deal with. I will never get back the wasted time I had to spend on the phone trying to deal with them. Very unhelpful, extremely inconsiderate, and totally incompetent. I feel like I have been robbed. This company will go under in no time
