We first contacted John from the APECS Insurance Agency on Wednesday evening to get information about Erie auto insurance. Consumer Reports had given Erie an excellent rating, and John Stearns was the local representative. We talked over the phone about combining home and auto insurance policies. On Friday he had quotes ready for us to review. He had gotten our previous insurance claim history and had come out to visually inspect the exterior of the house. We never knew he was here even though he came in the middle of the afternoon on Thursday. On Friday he emailed us a quote. We were very satisfied with the rates and levels of coverage and made an appointment to meet with him on Monday at his office. He was fully prepared for our appointment, answered all of our questions, and we were able to complete the process right away. He told us we could call our current insurer at any time to cancel the coverage and request refunds of our unused premiums effective tomorrow, Wednesday, because our new policies will become effective tomorrow. We were very satisfied and felt our process was speedy and stress-free.
Take note: APECS agency is not housed in a conventional office building, but in the old Sealtest dairy plant on Holton Street, just south of Capitol Dr. The building is locked, but John was waiting and came immediately to lead us into the building and to his office.
You might not be able to guess 😉 but he’s a serious Brewers fan.

John Stearns was phenomenal and very quick at what he is doing. I had issues with my insurance company and John swiftly managed to help us with our car insurance needs. I'll definitely consult with him for our home insurance this year (2025) after I'm done with my current useless insurance provider.
