Appalachia Service Project is a service organization dedicated to helping provide families with safe, warm, and dry homes throughout the Appalachia region. They are staffed by some wonderful people who coordinate scores of volunteers year around to complete this much needed work. If you, your church, your workplace, or organization are looking for someplace to serve, this is a great opportunity. They have multiple student trips throughout the Summer, as well as teams of all ages and skill levels the rest of the year. They accomplish a lot with the funds they raise to buy supplies and materials for the work. What an incredible organization and amazing people. Highly recommended!!

I got involved in ASP when my son was in high school. It was a great way for our otherwise "entitled" youth to broaden their life experience and learn a few practical skills along the way. The projects were always challenging, and I learned a lot, too! I've now been going on these trips for over 10 years, and I will continue to do so as long as I'm able.

There aren't too many better ways to help a family in need than by providing free home-improvement projects.

ASP does a great job of coordinating several hundreds of volunteers each year to transform homes and ultimately lives of several families in the Appalachian region, from Virginia to Pennsylvania and in between.

Great way to grow closer to friends or whomever you serve with too!
