The woman who identified herself as the CFO I have had to deal with when our apartment patio kept flooding. I didn’t expect it to be any better. This Laura must be a relative or have some damning information she is holding over the corporation to be allowed to do bully tenants in the way she has done. We informed the property person of our intention to vacate the premises on August 15th. Stating we understood that we would still be responsible for the rent but Lori told us not to worry because it was a first floor 2 bedroom and those rent very quickly. I turned the keys in on the 15th of August. I was informed by Laura that it would only take about 5 days to ready our apartment for rental. I had offered to let them keep our security deposit if they able to rent the apartment. I stopped by the apartment several times to get mail and was shocked that they had done nothing to ready the apartment. When I called Laura at the corporate office and asked why all she said was I was not going to get out of paying October rent. That I couldn’t offer my security deposit to them as a courtesy for us vacating the apartment early because the security deposit was not mine until they have inspected the apartment and agreed to return it. If you contact them via email Laura is the one who responds. It’s been impossible to get a name of anybody else at The Blake corporation to be given your opportunity to explain how this Bully Laura operates. The Pinewood Creek apartments have some attraction for living there but not worth the hassle of dealing with Laura. We had several complaints including mold growing inside the toilet tank but according to Laura that happens to every toilet when you live in an area. I broke my ankle because again had complaints that our patio flooded every time it rained. I expressed that I had no intention of suing but to please get the area fixed. Laura actually said that my husband had told her I fell getting out of our truck. Which he denied because he had never really had any interaction with Laura. They finally started the process of landscaping the area on the 14th of August which was almost 2 year’s since our original complaint. Just beware unless you can get the name of somebody that can address the poor behavior exhibited by their CFO. I’m color of the inside of the tank is supposed to be blue. What you are seeing is all the black mold on it. The outside pictures shows all the water we had to contend with every single time it rained. It took hours for the water to drain. Doubt if there’s anything I can do except to warn other people of this place and management.

I've been living at the lake geneva property for over a year. When they built the apartment it wasn't on grade so my apartment continues to flood everytime it storms really bad. I have been reaching out for over a year as it's cost me a ton of money to replace towels and my vaccum. Now I have to replace furniture as its mildewed and molding on the bottom. The carpet is so bad that it rips out when I vacuum. They attempted to try and solve the problem with a 2 inch drain that did noting but clog and hold the water. I asked for rent reduction as it seemed fair for all of the damage that has come to my stuff from the flooding and they said instead of that they'll send more contractors out. The apartment is a joke. Why should I have to uphold a lease if they can't do the proper thing and give me money back for my ruined belongings. Or to make the situation better from them knowing for a year and ignoring me. I had to put 3 grand down for a deposit if I ruined their stuff but it's okay that mine gets destroyedm 10/10 dont reccomend this place.

Lake Geneva Property.

Abandoned on the ridge ( mold, flooding, and a lack of responsibility)

Started out fine, but then things got worse and worse.

We call letting them know our shower isn't working right. Their response is to accidentally flood our apartment and the person below us.

We call letting them know there is a hole in the washer/dryer vent. Their response is to fix the hole, leave a mess, and then make it so we cannot use the dryer. They had to come back again to make it usable.

We call to let them know there is mold, and it’s been affecting our health. We lose access to half of our apartment, and they don't care and expect us to take care of it even when contractors say it will return.

We call the regional manager who condescends, doesn’t think any of this is inappropriate, and tells us false information. Additionally, she kept claiming no one else is having this issue.

Really?! And this was all just within the last three weeks! Here are just a few ratings claiming the exact same problem.

Rating ⅕ stars
Key words: cheap, mold, not cleaned, not maintained
“...built cheaply mold issues rent is very high for what you get apartment was definitely not cleaned and maintenanced properly...”

Rating ⅕ stars
Keywords: awful, mold, windows,
“...there's mold all around the windows in the buildings…”

Rating ⅕ stars
Keywords: terrible, mold, lie, air quality is terrible.
“The management is terrible...The apartments all need new windows, insulation and have had mold issues that they try to paint to cover up that just keep coming back. Air quality is terrible, maintenance on the building isnt done proper.”

Rating ⅕ stars
Keywords: mold, unsafe, calling every week with a problem
“..In that time we made numerous reports of excess moisture on our windows (poor, poor seals), a leaking window and mold growth.
We were experiencing mold growth on and off since December 2010.
We finally had it one year later in December 2011 when we moved a few curtains in the windows and some furniture only to find mold growing on the walls and windows as if it was natural.
It was clearly unsafe, anyone would agree.
...We had no choice but to pack up our things and sign a lease elsewhere.”

District manager Alicia is cold and does not care about residents during a pandemic. I will be pursuing actions against Normandy Village and Blake Capital Corporation for not renewing my lease during COVID-19. I was upfront with management even though I have experienced a loss in income and still managed to pay my rent every month. So rather than have a paying tenant they would rather have a vacancy. Not to mention I have numerous issues that remain unaddressed even though I have emailed property management numerous times and have received no resolution. They are also not providing maintenance either due to the “uptick” in Covid unless it is an emergency but could care less about residents and their situation.

For one of their Madison Properties. I needed a new AC unit on 10/1/19. They forgot about it and due to COVID and forgetting they needed a permit, I did not get a new AC until 6/12/20. My lease is 359 days long. I will have working AC for 25% of it even though per Wisconsin Statute 704.07(2)(a)2 they are to maintain all appliances that are part of the unit. Simply put, when they make a mistake, they will not make it right. Even when the law is on your side. Fair warning to all potential renters.

We are renting from one of their properties and are very disappointed we haven't even been in the property for 1 week and the problems are becoming a nightmare and management will do nothing.
We came in the apartment and it stunk so bad of chemicals we couldn't stay there for 2 days because they waited last second to spray sealant in our bathroom when they had over 1 month to do it.
Our patio door does not lock.
The walk in closet we have the whole thing collapsed when my fiance put his clothes up.
There is paint peeling in two rooms where u can see water damage has happened.
The shower was broken i had to yell for them to fix it after we waited 2 days just to be able to shower.
the so called sealant they sprayed is actually chipping already.
the doors all creak so bad that u can hear them in the hallway.
They did such a crappy paint job that parts of the cabinets and counters have paint on them.
The doors to each room don't fit right.
When we looked at the place there was not this many problems and they said they would have someone come do another check and cleaning. They lied.
No one will get back to use even Blake Capital Corp who is the owner of the property.
I will start contacting authorities if need be because this is a hell hole and definitely not what we signed up for for $910 a month this to me is bad promoting and lies they have sold to people just to get them to move in. Especially when we haven't even been there for a WEEK!!!!

During the stay at home order, my car was towed from my apartment complex because my parking permit was expired for seven hours!! I was charged $377.43. I asked for a refund, or a rent credit as a courtesy of me being a tenant, but they refused. Never mind that I'm laid off, or that were not allowed to go to the office, or that we're in a pandemic.

apartments themselves are lovely and spacious. Updated appliances. Landscape and outside area well maintained.
Improvements and repairs are happening each year. For my building, the housekeeping person is terric. All public areas and halls are well cared for.
