BCDC remains my place of choice for a mammogram in Fairbanks. The staff is very friendly, courteous and professional during a "hands on" procedure. Although I did have a referral from a previous doctor on file, I was able to come in under a self requested mammogram while I wasn't under a physician's care and the referral had expired. I didn't give them a full 5 stars, because of how often BCDC called to remind me and encourage me to make an appointment. Overall, I appreciate that my appointments help save costs to those women who can't afford to pay full price.

I went to BCDC today for my annual mammogram and was so impressed with their “COVID Safety” procedures! They greet you at the front door (after you have called to say you have arrived) and give you one of their mask, take your temperature and give you hand sanitizer. The staff (Kelsey, Tiyana and Diana) are extremely friendly and very professional. I am lucky that I have insurance, but I choose to go to BCDC because by using my insurance I am helping to make it available (at no cost) to those folks that do not have insurance! If it’s time for your annual mammogram I highly recommend going to BCDC!!!

I'm rather disappointed that, even though I've been to the BCDC several times, they now require a referral from my doctor. At the current time, I do not have a primary care physician, but cannot get a mammogram, even though it is covered fully by my insurance. Sad to think some people may not even bother after being told this and put off detection even longer.
