"Disgraceful Treatment of Long-Term Tenant: A Warning to Prospective Renters"

It deeply pains me to recount the abhorrent treatment my mother has endured at the hands of caritas management. After residing in the unit for over 27 years, her loyalty has been met with callous disregard and exploitation.

The state of disrepair in her unit is nothing short of appalling. Despite countless requests for maintenance and repairs, caritas has consistently neglected their responsibility, opting instead to prioritize profit over the well-being of their tenants. The outdated appliances and lack of necessary upkeep have significantly diminished the quality of life for my mother.

One particularly egregious incident highlights their utter lack of compassion: when PG&E generously offered to replace her refrigerator free of charge, caritas callously denied permission, further exacerbating the hardship my mother faces.

Even the simplest requests for essential repairs are met with indifference, as evidenced by their refusal to address the deteriorating condition of the unit. It is abundantly clear that caritas prioritizes their bottom line above the basic rights and dignity of their tenants.

Furthermore, the constant fear instilled in my mother, simply for attempting to improve her living conditions by replacing a faulty appliance, speaks volumes about the toxic atmosphere fostered by Caritas

In summary, I implore prospective renters to heed this warning and steer clear of caritas Their disgraceful treatment of long-term tenants serves as a stark reminder of the importance of advocating for tenant rights and holding landlords accountable for their actions.

This is supposed to be a place that provides help for our community and uplifts families. I am thankful for all the positives I had living there, for example, being able to have a roof over our heads in San Francisco, since rent is so high in this city, this place helped us live in San Francisco with a rent we could afford to pay... But towards the end, living in a building ran by them became a nightmare! I had to move out for the sake of my personal well being and mental health and safety. I lived in Good Samaritan Apartments and the manager there was a complete nightmare. It got to the point that it became unsafe. She had her older son attack my father in front of our front door of our apartment and her son beat up my dad while my dad was getting out the apartment. When we asked for the footage of the attack they responded that the cameras “were not working at that time.” Caritas did nothing about the attack, and they even said that the police report was fake and the injuries that my dad had were also not real in their eyes. This company is completely corrupt and it’s dangerous to live there! I understand we pay less money for rent but that doesn’t make us any less human. My family should not have to endure the amount of harassment that we did while living there. This is only one of the many continuous harassment that we continued to get from the manager at our apartment and we always report it to caritas and they never did anything to help us or save us from it. They continued to side by the manager who kept terrorizing my family. In fact, the apartment manager’s manager would bully us during meetings that we had and blamed everything on us, when clearly the problem was right next to her... her worker... I still have nightmares about this place. The corrupts ion starts from the top, since they all buried everything that they did to us. I wouldn’t recommend living there to anyone! The manager even said “if we lived in Guatemala, we wouldn’t be alive by now!” And she’s still working at the apartment complex...

Property needs managing? Caritas is by far the
absolute worst company to have representing you and the values you have as a company. Civil liberties, City ordinances, or even a signed rental agreements, are nothing compared to the unilateral dictatorship practed by Caritas their overreaching henchmen. Why a reputable company would even utilize their services poses questions regarding the parent company's business decisions, their mission statement, and who they partnered with in the -profit organization whose passion is to help the people in neighborhoods and cities around the country, hire a for-profit company with no passion or desire to thelp for the same people.

i have been a tenant in this building for over 30 years and it has always been a nice and very secure place to live, but since Caritas has taken over management it has gone down hill in just a matter of weeks. There is no permanent staff at this location since they took over, meaning that each and everyday there is someone new at the front desk or no one at all. Almost on any given day you can just walk in and find that there is no one here to man the front desk. The mail is frequently left on the front desk by the mailman because no one is there, which means that anyone can pick it up and steal it without notice. This company hires the most irresponsible people that they can find; always sleeping on the job, smoking pot outside in front of the building and not giving a damn about who's coming in or out. It's totally a shame what they (Caritas Management) has allowed this building to become in just the short time that they have been here, and I can only see it getting worse.

Building managers do not honer your grievance when you have someone in the building threatening your safety. Don't bother trying to get the problem taken care of their way they'll just throw out your grievance or turn the problem around on you especially if you haven't been their as long. You will be lied to and drama will follow you through the building every time you come or go my advice is don't come in or out during their hours it's the best way to avoid drama.

I have a been there yet but I'm going to try to get them to p a y me my 75.00 they owe me.the cadalic hotel lost my license on..11/19/2018.I spike with the owner and she said she would take care of it.she has my name and number.no one had called me back,about this matter.the rules in there bylaws say they must find your I.D. within 12 hours or pay you 75.00$ the cost of a new l.D.and the hassle of screwing up your Quality of life...I have been very patient..wish me luck....P A T

The property management team is by far the worst I have ever seen. We don’t a secure gate. No phone system for a year. The elevator is about to be shut down again due to lack of repairs mandated by the State. True Slumlords.

Courageous management of San Francisco just $2,300 a month for a little tiny room they rent to there transience !
The transients only pay one-third of their income !
The rest is from the government !
They are liars cheats and thieves !
