My home rental experience was a nightmare I am still in shock. The tenants stopped paying rent. It took 5 months to get them evicted. They committed federal fraud twice. My neighbors told me the tenants were having parties every night with professional sound and lighting systems and cars lined up all down my long driveway. I had to get my own attorneys involved. The property manager (Amanda) totally dropped the ball. She sent pictures of the rooms that didn't show the filth. I was not allowed to access my home until I paid for the locks that had been changed that didn't need to be changed as I used Kwikset locks. I had to catch a flight in, get a dumpster in, hire movers, hire cleaning services to restore my property. Never again. I never received the back rent. My neighbors told me caravans of people came with trucks to move the tenants out. I wouldn't wish this experience on anyone.

After a issue arose with the first house we looked at, they did everything they could to make it right. Was interested in renting a home, gave an overpayment of the application fee by mistake, reached out to Amanda Ivey, and was never contacted about receiving the difference back on the money order. Very unprofessional. Will never reach out to this company again! Mrs. Underhill was very pleasant with the home she showed. But poor business to intentionally let someone over pay you and not respond.

Our family’s experience with this company started out great until it wasn’t. The first house we looked at that was being managed by them was a slum. No and-ifs about it. It was filthy and moldy and unfit for rental. The next house we saw under Century 21 was fabulous for our family. We ended up asking for a second viewing to show the house to confirm our opinions about it (we have been cautious since we had been steamrolled in our last rental). We were encouraged to apply, two of our applicants make well over 4 times the monthly income, so we were sure this would be a simple process. After turning in our applications and paying our $140 fee, we were updated a day later that they were only waiting to hear back from our current landlord. Three days later, after waiting on pins and needles, we are shocked that they chose another applicant with more monthly income. Never mind that we have a flawless rental history, or that we make more than enough to rent the house. No they put another applicant ahead of ours. Wow, thanks for wasting our time. Do yourself a favor and don’t waste yours.

I should add that I did overhear one of their realtors outright discriminate an interested family. This was at the first open house under theirs we went to.

I have been with Amanda for 4+ years she has always been amazing with any of my concerns or needs. When I moved she made the transition In to a new place extremely easy and pain less. As long as I am in this area, amanda will have my business.

The home I lived in was great! The first property manager I had was amazing and was even helping me to purchase the home! That property manager no longer works there! The new property manager was not helpful and the owner of colonial realty has not been available to me in regards to my concerns. I have been the one to keep calling to get my questions answered ( which they have not been) and concern addressed.
