Its funny how they ignore all of these bad reviews...just shows that the reviews are true and that you do not care about anyones peace while living in your properties...This is for scottish hills, Many reasons I do not recommend, apartments are out of date, not well insulated, old hotel style ac/heater "windows units", at least 3 things didn't work when I moved in, faulty outlets and then they want to charge you when they break. A properly installed outlet shouldn't move into the wall when I plug a fan up, causing the cover to break. That's a hazard, because it's clearly not mounted right inside the wall....noisey neighbors, people constantly parking illegally but not getting towed...and black mold in the bathrooms (that they just spray bleach on and leave it), black mold in the ac units too. Ceilings drooping, leaks, oh and one big one, enetering the property wihtour providing 24 hour notice(which is a lease violation)..they seem to think the tenants are the only ones who ahve to follow the rules of the lease. But nope, if they violate it, technically you cam void the lease yourself and not owe any remainder for the term fo the lease...I do not recommend. They make excuses for the disrespectful meighbors, play favorites, beleive lies told about you without seeking any sort of proof, they also think they cam evict someone by simply sending am email to you giving you a 21 day notice...thats mot legal. They HAVE to go to a COURT HOUSE and get an eviction APPROVED BY A JUDGE, Then am officer delivers the eviction papers to you. They also think that when they give you the 21 daya to correct the problem, that if another problem arises affer youve corrected the first one that they can jist kick you out then... they do not practice legal activities here...so be sure that anythign they tell you, you look into yourself..because they will lie to you about the laws. Its really pathetic that they work in this field and dont know the laws. I'm leaving the first chance I get.
They are honestly one of the laziest leasing staffs I have seen. There are much better places in town for better prices too. I removed my original review, because it seemed like they were going to start working with me on things...but now I see they do not care at all. So this one will stay up.

Hannah was very nice in responding to my email with a phone call where she discussed the units available for my time frame and followed up with another email the same day which contained all the details for the units we discussed. Friendly and helpful.

Since before my family and I moved into our home in August 2023, CMG has been nothing but accommodating, professional, kind and attentive. They answered all my questions in a timely and thoughtful manner, and after I moved in their dedication stayed the same. Any time I have an issue or maintenance request, they respond immediately and then follow up to make sure everything is still working ok. The maintenance team is AMAZING! Randy, James and Brian are incredibly skilled and hard working. They always go above and beyond to ensure everything is in top-notch condition. Their dedication and attention to detail truly make a positive difference when there is an issue that needs attention.
So far, I’d recommend CMG to anyone looking to rent in Radford!

Was very upset over some things that transpired after my lease ended. I was overcharged and told that I wouldn’t be refunded until my security deposit came back. However, I scheduled a meeting with the manager Amanda and she was able to help me resolve the issue. She did everything she could to help and promised me my refund asap. She even sent me a $25 gift card for food so I wouldn’t go hungry while the refund processed. Really really thankful for her attentiveness and being so easy to work with. The only issue I had is that our apartment had pretty bad mold issues that repeatedly came back and was never fully solved. However, maintenance did what they could. If you’re looking into CMG apartments, specifically Hillside, I would be wary of the mold. Overall though, nice people and easy to work with.

I lived on Davis St. for a year and highly recommend the location. The apartment I stayed in was beautiful, and Amanda and her team were efficient in resolving any issues, most of which were unexpected and unforeseen. While some reviews mention bug problems, I didn't find it to be a significant issue. I took steps to bug-proof the apartment and avoided opening the door to wooded areas, which seemed to solve the problem.

However, there are two areas where I believe improvements could be made: waste management and on-site laundry facilities. The waste bin was open-topped and tended to smell at times; a recycling bin would also be a welcome addition. As for the laundry facility, it operates using quarters. A Bluetooth-enabled system would be far more convenient, in my opinion. Additionally, the facility could benefit from more frequent maintenance.

Amanda is an excellent communicator and manager, consistently constructive and solution-oriented. If you're a responsible and attentive tenant who documents everything and maintains the apartment well, I'm confident you'll have a pleasant experience. I appreciate the quality of service they provide.

I would rate CMG 0 stars if possible. My family and I have never had a worse experience with a rental company before. After renting with CMG for a year, I was trying to move into another CMG owned apartment complex for the following year. While the lease start/end dates were different for the two properties, I would have been left with a month and a half of nowhere to live. CMG did nothing to help accommodate me when wanting to stay with their company. When I have had this issue of a gap between leases with other rental companies in the past, they were very accommodating to my needs. When eventually asking the manager, Amanda, for her personal advice on what to do in my situation as I was feeling very stuck and unsure of what to do, I walked into the office and was greeted with, "I'm not sure why you are here, we have nothing to else discuss." She continued to speak to me similarly throughout our conversation. I left the office in tears for hours after my conversation with Amanda solely based upon how I was spoken to. It is extremely unprofessional for a manager to speak to their residents in this manner.

When I first moved in to my apartment, I paid a total of $600 in security deposits. Upon moving out, I received $78 of that amount back. Do not plan on moving here unless you can leave an entire apartment in absolute perfect condition that looks like it was never lived in. Most of our charges were not for cleaning well enough, while my roommates and I collectively swept, mopped, vacuumed, and wiped down prior to move out. They expect their residents to clean the apartments as if they are a professional cleaning company. I attempted to dispute some of these charges with management, but no changes were made. As someone who has rented for years at various complexes, I have never not received all/most of my security deposit back. While I wasn't expecting to receive all of it back with CMG, I was shocked by the amount I did.

We have been living at a CMG apartment since August 2019 and we re-signed a lease to stay with them until July 2021! As a graduate student at Radford University, it was important to me to choose somewhere close to the university and affordable. I got more than those two requirements with CMG. Ever since I moved in, although my apartment wasn't perfect in every way, any request I have ever made has been met quickly. They have fixed anything I have asked and they have made me a very satisfied customer. The maintenance staff have always been respectful and kind. I have not had a bad interaction with the office staff or maintenance staff, which I cannot say about everywhere I have lived. Also, I really appreciate that they offer coffee and the snack bar! Unfortunately, during the pandemic, they closed those options temporarily. However I am so thankful that in the meantime, they set out a table with plenty of snacks and drinks for their residents. They also offered Mother's Day cards too! While I was working so hard on final exams, I was really thankful they offered their residents Mother's day cards because I have had no time to get that myself, and in this crazy pandemic I would rather avoid stores anyway! CMG clearly cares about their residents. In each season change (without a weird pandemic in the way), they have offered events with games and delicious food from the Country Kitchen nearby! I am happy I decided to live at a CMG leasing apartment, they have more spirit than other leasing companies nearby! (:

Leasing with CMG has been an amazing experience. They are super friendly and respond to issues in a timely manner. My roommates and I have had a stress-free time communicating with them and making sure our living environment is the best it can be. We already resigned with them for next year as well and I look forward to continue residing with such an amazing leasing company.
