Edit October 2023: I decided to update my review because the apartments are under new management and the consensus is they are doing much better than the management when I was there. My initial review applies to the old management.

The old management deserves less than one star.

Do not move here!!!! If you care for peace and quiet, or want to be able to get things done without the torture of loud music and building-vibrating bass, do not move here for any reason. There are people who play their music so loud in the parking lot that you can barely get any work done. With people working from home due to the pandemic, this is incredibly inconsiderate. They do this during the week when people are working. I have had to play my music to drown out the constant boom of the bass. I believe this is used as a form of torture in places. This is not the only problem. The apartments are advertised as non-smoking, but this is not enforced so you are going to inhale everything your neighbors are smoking if you're unlucky enough to get neighbors who smoke indoors. I have had my health adversely affected by all the secondhand smoke. The management never responded to me when I contacted them.

I have observed management never fixes anything you ask them to. The attached pictures show what the I met in the kitchen when I moved in. Unfortunately, I had to leave town the day after I moved in so I did not get the chance to see how bad the cabinet under the sink was until a couple of weeks later. I asked the management to fix it several times and they never came. They marked my work request as completed without doing anything.

Simple thing, this place is not worth the money they are asking for. The buildings are old and have lots of cracks where you get drafts from outside; you get whatever your neighbors are smoking in your apartment; there is a lot of noise. I advise you to look elsewhere.

PS: I moved here in July of 2020 with the new management.

I had to move out even before my lease expired because management wouldn’t deal with neighbors smoking all sorts of stuff in the apartment and playing loud music at all hours of the day.

Maybe I should of read the reviews before I applied. When I originally acquired about an apartment , another complex was managing Colonial Court, then after getting them all the info they asked for, I called to check the status to only find out another complex is now managing it. So I ask the new complex what they need, they said it all transferred, I keep calling back daily to inquire the status to only be told they will call me back the same day. I still have not gotten a call back. But they have my fee money, but won't update the website on my status or Call me back. Now they are not answering the phone at all. Very unprofessional.

I saw online that they had an available unit, so I submitted an application, and more importantly paid an application fee, yet I was NEVER contacted about the status of my application, despite MANY, MANY calls and emails through their website. Their customer service is atrocious! If they treat applicants so poorly, imagine what an actual tenant under contract (lease) must be experiencing.

UPDATE: After posting the above review, I received a call from the leasing office the following Monday, inquiring whether I wanted to apply. I APPLIED FOUR WEEKS ago, when I paid $56.95 for the application and processing fees! I could hear a man in the background, telling the leasing agent what to say. If he is in charge, why didn't HE get on the phone and discuss the matter with me? I requested my application fee be returned, since they had clearly acted in bad faith, but the agent said that was not possible. I asked to speak to their business manager, but the agent refused to allow me to do so, even though I could hear the man, who certainly sounded like a supervisor, right there, prompting her with what to say! Clealy, this place is a total joke! I would not recommend anyone sign a lease with such an unprofessional company.

We talked to a lady on the phone who helped us apply for an apartment. The listing said the apartment was available in April and she said we could move in May 5. She told us we needed to come and sign some papers in person, so we booked a hotel and prepared to make the 7-hour drive to the area. A few days later (two days before our booking), we called again because we were expecting an email with more information and it hadn't come yet. At this point, she told us that the apartment was not available until July. This left us scrambling to find a new apartment in the area as we had already booked a moving truck and made promises to future employers. I don't know why they would lie to us. And to top it off, we paid a $100 application fee for this whole ordeal.

The place seemed okay when we first moved in a little over a year ago. Office seemed quick to respond to any questions or when it came to fixing stuff. The people seemed like they had cleaned it up around there. Now I am realizing it is just as ghetto as it used to be. Got all sorts of traffic in and out of there loud at all times of the night. Not a single parking space free 98% if the time. Some units have 3-4 cars just for their household and when you have kids having to lug them in and out in bad weather from the middle of the lot to the end of it it is very inconvenient. I can no longer allow my children outside unless they stay directly in front of my house because my son was harassed by a group of other children as their mother told them to do it. He is only 5! This is an adult who threatened my child in front of me.Trashy people living there. Plain and simple. Contacted the office about this and get no responses. Ridiculous. It was a quick convenient move for us at the time. But I am counting down the days until we can leave and go where my kids can live with out being scared to walk home from the school bus!!

I had a whole lot of problems with this apartment complex I’ve been here for a year now!!! But let me tell you!!! I’ve had very low water pressure for the past 9 months me and my son had to start going to hotels to take showers. They have a new property manager named Josh now and the FIRST time i called him and mentioned it to him he showed up 30 mins later and had it fixed and running in less than 30 mins!!! Thank you soooooo much Josh!!!! You were so professional and kind!!! Thank you again!! And me and my son really appreciate it!!

CONTINUED.....

The place is falling apart. I stepped up inside coming into my back door and the wood is so rotted/old that it collapsed, and they still have not fixed it. The neighboring apartments gutter and drain fell off and it's still laying out back. But the rain is started to be soaked in underneath I guess and is lifting the laminate from the floor when you first walk in. Neither door has weather strips though I've called and asked multiple times....MULTIPLE. I have paper towels folded and taped to the side of my door to keep the air out bc there was a serious breeze coming though during the winter. Oh and when they replaced the heating unit and added the new vent, they didn't get rid of the old one, which has air from outside coming through so it's cold or hot air coming from outside to make your heat/AC work harder and stay on longer. I taped aluminum foil over it to keep the air and BUGS out. THERE ARE SO MANY ANTS COMING FROM THE BASEBOARDS WHERE THE CARPET MEETS THEM. Ants coming from the rotted wood inside the walls.

If you don't bolt lock your door, you can use a card to open you door. I've had to do it a few times. The dumpster gets so full that there is trash coming into the street. There are SO many kids...LOUD kids, that play in the grass on the hill by all the parked cars and since living here. I've seen two car wind shield cracked and plenty of cars hit by balls, etc. The kids have no manners and will play on your porch and mess with your stuff. The people in the office are never in if you need to speak to somebody and when they do answer they make you few stupid for calling them.

It is a horrible place to live, unless you don't intend on spending any time actually living inside the apartment.

Don’t live here, this is a slumlord complex. Where they have roach infested apartments and rodents within the walls. Don’t rent any apartments managed by greenbrier management their staff are unprofessional and are no help whatsoever. They will try to charge you fees for every little thing. DO NOT LIVE HERE…..thank god I’m out of there!!!!
