Completely rubbish branch. When you call them on the phone, they interrupt you and don’t let you speak. Very disrespectful team.

I've had a PO Box at this post office for years and the counter clerks and managers have always been friendly and helpful. My parcels have always arrived in good condition and they have been careful with them. They are busy sometimes and there can be a short wait for a clerk. The employees do a good job from what I've observed.

I ship 15 to 20 packages a week usually at other locations but today this location was convenient. At every other location I've visited I've taken my postage paid parcel and set it on an empty place at one end of the counter. As i approached the counter to do so the clerk was in a prolonged conversation about her uniform with a customer, i politely said excuse me and left my package, as I left however the clerk yelled after me and made a huge show of telling me I needed to place my package elsewhere next time. I'm fine putting the box wherever but would rather not be spoken to like a child when asked to do so.

Overall I've gotten exemplary service here, and this location is always clean. I have been here when it's very busy and had to wait in line, but hey, everyone waits in line at lunchtime on a weekday! 😉 However, I was behind 13 people and was served in less than 15 minutes. Not bad in my opinion. I have held a PO Box here for many years, so long perhaps it should have my name engraved on it! lol! 🙂 I wish there wasn't so much vandalism in the area, as vandals destroyed many PO Boxes and therefore they are only accessible when the Post Office is open. I miss getting my mail after work at 10pm, but I understand. Perhaps they could put in a far better camera security system than was available back then, and once again try opening up some "after hours" access to PO Boxes hours. That would be GREAT! The people have ALWAYS been very nice, human, fun, and knowledgeable, and have gone the extra mile to assist me. I don't actually live in Des Moines currently, but I refuse to give up my PO Box at this location! It's worth driving there! PLUS with the new feature of using their street address with my PO Box # as an actual physical address for packages that won't deliver to a PO Box... well, that's most excellent! 🙂 LOVE THIS LOCATION! :}

My family and I went here a couple of weeks ago to apply for our passports and Jennifer was so helpful. We went there a little before our appointment time and expected to wait, but we waited for 5 minutes! We also went with all of the proper paperwork already filled out, so it took less than the time needed to get it all done. We even needed to take our pictures there and it was so easy. Needless to say, her customer service was on point!

THE WORST customer service ever. Called at 12pm at my lunch break, spent 20 minutes on the phone to make sure my package is held in this location for pick-up. After leaving from work early to make sure I make it there before they close, I am told my package was sent back to the sender at 3PM because I didn't call before they sent it!!! I called THREE HOURS before they sent my package, yet they're telling me I did't call. I'd recommend to find alternative ways of delivering your packages!

I can not even begin to describe how HORRIBLE this place is. I had been waiting on my wedding invitations to come in the mail which were suppose to be here on a Monday and it had made it all the way to Thursday and no package. On my tracking it said it had never left the station so I go up there thinking that I will just be able to pick it up although I do not understand what the hold up was. Long story short I get to the station and I was told by the manager and staff that my package was forwarded randomly to no one knows where because I had not moved in two years neither had I put in a change of address. Needless to say I still do not have my invitations and the MANAGER of the station could not give me an answer as to where my stuff was neither could the carrier. They had no record what so ever. WORST customer service experience I have ever encountered they did not care and almost tried to blame it on me. To bad nothing will be done about it but just be WARNED about this station. Avoid at all cost
