I had a bad experience with Farmers Insurance over the last year. They are very expensive , especially if you have a small business. In addition, I had some issues on the premium audit which resulted in an extra $5,300 premium due for Worker's Comp. Before the audit commenced, we received a notice for an annual audit and my wife called the Farmer's Insurance Agency owner, Mike Clinkenbeard on the week of December 12th and asked him if we still needed to do the audit since we were no longer with Farmer's Insurance as of Oct 2022, and he stated it was optional so I was confused if doing the audit was mandatory or optional. With that being said, we received a certified letter a week later from Farmer's Insurance indicating that "Failure to comply with the Premium Audit.....will result in us being billed an Audit Non Compliance surcharge of $2,584." Mike did not disclose this to my wife. It was very unprofessional of him to not explain the urgency or the importance of the annual audit.

I emailed and called Mr. Clinkenbeard regarding the additional bill of $5,300 and he never returned my email or call. It wasn't the first time he didn't reply to my emails or my calls. I even went to the office to discuss the issue and I was told he "wasn't available." His agency is quick to take your money but not so when it comes to customer service.

There are better quality companies that offer the same services that Farmer's does but at a cheaper rate. I went with Hartford which is saving me about $1K per month and they have excellent customer service.

I don't normally post negative reviews but when a customer asks a business owner for some clarifications and understanding, and ignores you, while having to dish out another $5,300, that you have to pay from your very small business (with only 3 part-time employees), it was necessary.

There's no excuse for not replying to customer's emails or calls, PERIOD!

Obviously, for this agency, customers are not a priority but your money is!

I have been insured with Farmers with Mike for over 15 years. Always a phone call away to answer any questions and advise me, so I make the right decision for my Family, my home and business. Family owned and operated and will reffer them to everyone. When shopping for insurance you need to trust the person setting up your policy. Otherwise when it comes time to need it, you will not be happy with the outcome.

After starting to pay for my own auto insurance along with college bills. i got sideswiped in my new truck. They took care of me and gave me the date of when it was to be done at the shop. I was in a rental for over two months since there was no communication between the shop and the insurance company. Now starting the new year I checked my bank account and noticed a 116 dollar charge instead of the usual 86. I received nothing in the mail regarding this or a renewal policy. Called Adam C. and he said that the rate went up again after charging my dad more the previous year. He said that I was sent a mail and a letter in the mail which i have checked and not received. Their communication throughout my time dealing with them has been very miserable and have not been able to work with my family at all.

I switched my homeowner’s insurance policy to Farmers to save money based on a lower quote from Adam Clinkenbeard. A month later I received a bill for additional $223 from Farmers. Adam told me to ignore the bill and that he would work with the underwriters to honor the original quote. The billing and empty promises went on for entire year as I kept calling him every month after receiving a bill. The last month of my policy Adm told me he never promised anything and that I was responsible for the balance. So, I was incorrectly misled to believe I would be saving money if I switched to Farmers.
During the same period, I had a roof leak. I called Adam to get clarification on my coverage to make sure the incident would be covered. He assured me that this will be covered and encouraged me to file a claim. The claim was denied. Filing a claim raises your future premiums for 5 years even if the claim is denied.
This is the worst agent I have dealt with ever. Before canceling my policy, I told Adam I wished to speak with his supervisor to voice my complaints. He laughed and said, “That would be my dad”.
