This company is so hard to work with and no matter what you do they will keep your security deposit. There are too many rental companies in AUBURN to choose from stay far away from this company.
It’s shocking they have not been reported for scamming college students!
Our apartment was perfect and they still kept the deposit

UPDATE: we submitted a work order with a detailed list of the issues with this house, we included plenty of pictures as well. A random man showed up at our new home saying he was here to clean up. We asked who he was with and it was a company we had never heard of. My husband stepped outside and closed the door to speak with this man as he was sketched out by the situation. The gentleman had no paperwork, could not tell us what he was here to clean, or who he was hired by. The gentleman called his boss for the details and the boss asked to speak directly to my husband. First Realty did not share any of the details about the state of our rental home with the company they hired to clean our new home. After the phone call, my husband and the gentleman walked the property while discussing what needed to be done. The gentleman said he’d need to speak with his boss and gather more supplies. Not only did first realty not bother to give proper instructions or paperwork to the third party they hired, first realty completely failed to communicate with us in anyway.

Ps: we still have no water due to first realty repeatedly provided us the incorrect utility companies and insisting the city’s records must be wrong. The city had to tell us who our actual water service provider.

DISGUSTING UNITS, NOT CLEANED this BEFORE NEW TENANTS MOVE IN!!! This company is RIDICULOUS. They provided us, IN WRITING, the wrong utility company for water AND electric TWICE. I could not bring angrier. DO NOT RENT THROUGH THIS COMPANY!!!!! YOU WILL REGRET IT!!! Im writing this a in a hot, dark, and waterless house. BEWARE!!! This is literally a nightmare in real life. We were not given keys to the deadbolt, only the handle. The front door was completely UNLOCKED when we arrived to move in, the walls were not repainted, there a is a hole the size of a baseball in one room, numerous smaller unpatched holes and nails in the walls, the carpets are full of stains, smells, and probably worse- I don’t even feel comfortable taking my socks off, the carpets are so disgusting. The owner did not want to replace the carpets since we have dogs, which we agreed to on the condition that the carpets be professionally cleaned. Surprise, the carpets were NOT professional cleaned, only hastily vacuumed. There are massive dead and live roaches, spiders, and other creepy crawlies in varying states of decay.
After 10 minutes of walking the house, I had a mental breakdown and had to go sit in my car and pull myself together. This has been the WORST rental experience in my 10+ years of renting.

They will extort you on any little thing. They expect you to fix something's yourself that's life threatening and they claim to have maintenance guys.

Do NOT rent thru First Realty. Read other reviews similar. It is a definitive trend.

I paid my son’s rent to First Realty of Auburn AL for the past two years. Btwn him and a roommate, they had $1000 deposit. Upon ending the lease, First Realty quoted excessive “repairs”. All of the repairs were for item fitting normal wear and tear and simply age. Example painting ceiling which hadn’t been painted for many year well beyond my son’s rental period. Another example was a landing area just inside the back door which had issue due to excessive dampness from poor drainage in the back is the house which caused rot to the back porch over 20 years. Blinds replaced which were simply old. AC filter (really). Filter simply have normal wear and tear item.
We wrote First Realty an appeal letter which they simply ignored and proceeded with another letter threatening collection agency. Not wanting my son to experience credit issues we simply paid the excessive amount.

Please avoid renting apartments managed by First Realty of Auburn AL

This realty is not professional in the way they conduct business. They will take your money and don’t provide any details. If you are not approved for leasing it takes several days to refund your payment. You will loose $155.00 for the application. Please beware before you go!
