The concept and execution are excellent and the price is right. There is a tremendous need for this service in the marketplace. The brokerage community that provides "advice" to its clients does so at a high cost and at consistently below market returns. Wish more people knew about FutureAdvisor. Delighted to be a customer. I provide the assets and FutureAdvisor does the rest taking into consideration my risk tolerance (and tax bracket for taxable funds).When it is time to reallocate my assets, FutureAdvisor does it for me. I don't have to give it a thought!

Tried it for 6 months with an allocation similar to a Wealthfront portfolio I had. Glad I compared -- FutureAdvisor underperformed Wealthfront by 2% and the S&P by 4% during that time. Not good. Also, I was really irked by the fact that not only do they charge transaction fees for some of the assets (on top of the management fees), they do not do a good job of minimizing when those fees are charged -- e.g. I got hit with the $7 commission for buying the same asset TWICE within a week.

Worse, they seem to provide BETTER service, analysis, and information only before you actually invest money with them (providing nice analysis of your portfolio and what assets they'd recommend and why). However, once you actually have them manage your money, you don't have access to this information. I found this too very disappointing. It's as though they work really hard to reel you in with all this great info, but then they care less once they've got your money.

What an ideal idea!
I haven't needed their offerings or resources since I have neither resources nor offerings but if I ever have something more than the pennies in my pocket maybe I'll have the chance to let FutureAdvisor turn those pennies into nickles.
