This is my first time writing a review for this agent. I’ve been using Costco insurance for both my car and home for over 10 years. However, this year, my home policy couldn’t be renewed for a ridiculous reason. My sister referred me to this agent and he was incredibly professional and dedicated to helping me. He provided honest advice and offered a very reasonable price for my home insurance. I will definitely refer him to all my friends and family.

We recently lost our home insurance because AAA cancelled and refused to renew our insurance, even after we provided proof that we had installed TPO on the roof in November 2024. We provided AAA the necessary proof and were told they were going to call us. Never received a call until our lender reached out asking for insurance.
We were so irritated because for over 20 years we had our home and auto insurance bundled with them. We were excellent payers and never, NEVER filed a claim but our insurance kept going up. I believe that if things seems bad right now there’s always a better outcome.

Sure enough, searched for insurance company in Hayward and the first that popped up was First Avenue Insurance. They had awesome ratings and after speaking to William we knew why. He exceeded our expectations during the process. He walked us through and made sure that my parents were included and aware of the process. He was very patient and answered our questions immediately whether by phone or by email. We felt good and relieved that we decided to include all our cars. AND William was able give is a better deal!!

I received a non-renewal notice from my home insurance company for the reason my house is in a "high fire-risk zone". I have called a couple of major insurance companies for a quote, but all of the agents said she could not qualify my house to be insured by AAA even though she tried to bundle the auto insurance.
My neighbor referred me to William Skaf at First Avenue Insurance Services. I was very pleased with the pleasant communications with William. His professionalism and positive attitude gained my confidence trusting I have found an honest agent on my side. Surely, William was able to find me a home policy along with the CA Fair Plan on the same day he gathered all my information. He always phones me with updates every step of the process. He instead of just telling me on the phone. He forwards me the actual quote document with detailed explanations in PDF files. After all, with the bundling of the home insurance, CA Fair Plan, 2 auto insurance policies. My total premium is still less than my total current policies. I also moved to purchase the Umbrella policy with him as well. I feel relief now knowing my house insurance coverage will not be interrupted by the cancellation.

Like other reviews said, we had trouble when our home insurance cost doubled because we live in wildfire risk zone and my husband contacted William with 3 weeks left until renewal and William promptly found lowest possible option where non-fire supplemental policy cost was half of what another agent quoted us. California FAIR plan cost was the same but we still saved $1500/year. This agency was very easy to deal with, unlike 2 other agents where we had to wait for days or weeks to get back to us, probably because of many people looking for new home insurance. We'll see if we can also switch our auto insurance to William as well.
