I rather be homeless on the street than be in this worse than jail property. Management thinks they are above everyone and everything, including California, and San Francisco ordinances. Uses the contract you sign to harass you. Within 6 weeks they NEEDED to come in my unit 16 times for mostly BS reasons. Finally, I just felt that was wrong and told them I refuse and the management came in anyways, watching me walk out the front door and they went right in. So I put up a few cameras, and caught them in the act. Now, legal advice I receive is to take them to small claims, find an attorney to sue them, and also file petitions. They violated my privacy and sanctuary and this cannot be home if I don't feel safe. Only positive is the people that watch out for our safety, Floricel, Linda, Kay, Michael, and Kristine. Also, the people that clean do an excellent job considering many tenants and visitors are inconsiderate and trashes this property consistently.

Management is so bad. Jon Stewart doesn't do anything to fix the problem Even if you report it I wouldn't recommend living in any apartment that is run by the Jon Stewart company

This company doesn't deserve any stars with the management they hire for the grove apartments in san jose off fruitdale there is this chick that says she's the groves property manager. This brod is very disrespectful very unprofessional today the office said they will be closed today yet this chick came and starting Harassing everyone that was sitting at the pool trying to have a good time on 4th of July and telling people they can't wear shirts in the pool only Bathing suits like what the hell some people don't feel comfortable showing their bodies that's one strike one of those people was my own mother so I stepped in that convo real quick since I'm the one that lives here and the so called property manager tried to go off even more and I told her all u new people that came are lazy and don't do nothing or lag on things that needs to be fixed these new office people suck and don't no how to run a proper complex so she was trying to say what unit am I from I told her don't worry about it that ain't your problem I pay my rent here u can't do nothing so she was taking so many pictures of me and everyone she was arguing with in the pool area. After that she told off our pool cleaning guy that has been here for a long time and always kept our pools clean and she has the nerve to say u work for me I will be firing u when she's not even his boss this lady has to get outa here this complex does not need stupid people like that. After she left the pool area we went over to talk to the pool cleaning man since he spoke Spanish and asked what happened with him too and he even said he never saw that chick before she's a African chick that looks like she's on Crack if this problem does not get resolved I will go to the news or press or something to have her revoked from this property. She said she's the groves property manager yet she was very outa pocket and needs to be fired. Since John Stewart Company
Corporate office is closed today I will be calling again tomorrow. Everyone that was in the pool area got kicked out because this chick was on her period.

Consistently poor management, but still not as bad as Burbank. Never take your eyes off anything, even if it doesn't seem valuable. Mostly nice tenants, but the few thieves are very watchful and active.

This is a company that really cares for its residents and employees. It does it best to manage the hundreds of properties on behalf of property owners with extremely tight budgets. Even with SIP, staff put their lives on the line to manage and clean the properties to ensure a safer and better place for residents to live. Thank you JSCo for not shutting its doors and keeping employees employed for the benefit of staff and residents. Love this company!

It's sad to see one of the oldest property management companies since 1970s and start going downhill in the past 227-28 years. I was a resident of 321 Clementina CPA (1988-2003); then moved to Leland Apt (about 19 yrs) from 2003- present time: -((
Between 2015 and 2023 we have a high turnover of 5 managers in seven years so wow!
Elevator of two down for no parts so waited for 4 months. Garage gate broken for waiting for parts for 2 months and it's down totally three times in the past 22 months. No security no safety because everyone can walk in to the garage and break any window anytime.

Leland Apt if for family with one member is a person with disability!

So imagine when garage is open, intercom is not working so we residents can't open the front door entrance for our caregivers or guests, then on top everyone has to wait extra long time like 2.5 to 3 minutes to be able just to get in that one and only working elevator! But if and only if both elevators are working then we can suffer less!

HEY, THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO BE WORKING BECAUSE UNDER GOOD MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE THESE KIND OF EQUIPMENT RELATED PROBLEMS SHOULD NO HAPPEN IN SUCH A HIGH FREQUENCY?

Management is so unfair. Ms. Chan is not for the community she is more for herself. She is not a person you can relate to or communicate with. If you don't know your rights as a tenant, NorthBeach Place will not assist you!! Prefer to work with someone that is Color Blind and treats each and everyone EQUAL at all times !

The John Stewart Company (JSCO) had me wrongfully evicted from my home of 42+ years because I dared to be the one resident who continually held them accountable for their misdeeds. After being elected to the Board of Directors of Glenridge Apartments Cooperative in 2010 I immediately found some outright illegal wrongdoing on our books. They were using our bank accounts and writing a check made out to "GLENRIDGE" from one of our accounts, and then depositing the check into another account claiming this was for "office space" and the "Board Room". That is a ledger entry, NOT a physical check to be written in any way shape or form. This was done for a number of reason...all beneficial to JSCO and not to the Cooperative. They charged extra fees for writing the check, depositing the check, and increasing the gross receipts they charge their massive management fee from. The last fee doesn't go toward any of their employee salaries or anything of the sort. It was over $18,000.00 every 23 days for just being there. The Co-Op pays for ALL of JSCO's employees salaries, benefits, vacation, etc. Nothing comes out of JSCO's pockets. They siphon off as much money from HUD assisted properties as they can; hire incompetent people to do their maintenance; with managers who don't even leave their offices to regularly inspect the condition of the property as their contracts state they are suppose to.
After holding their feet to many fires they had my house raided by the police and I was arrested for the first time EVER in my 53 years on trumped up drug charges. I was also a Board member at that time.
Without ever asking me about what happened or what the outcome was or anything the property manager Barbara Goodie had a 10-day-to-quit notice placed on my door that cited the arrest report as the reason for notice. Four days later we had our Board meeting, and in the Executive Session (without management) I stated that the arrest was all BS and that I would be exonerated from all charges. Just let me stay in my home until Due Process takes place and then decide what to do if I'm not exonerated. The Board voted Unanimously to allow me to stay until my case was concluded; told management to stop any proceedings against me until the case was over, and told management to check with the Board then for any action going forward.
Long story short - Management, along with the illegal President of the Board of Directors (because he does not reside on the property as the by-laws and California Law states that he should - he sublets it and has for 20 years) Mr Fred Butler, esq. colluded together with JSCO's lawyers to have me evicted after I protested at a Board meeting that Mr. Butler signed a $6,000.00 check he was not authorized to for things the property didn't need, and the fact that he is an illegitimate board member for reasons stated above.
Mr Butler then directed JSCO to have their lawyers force me out any way they could. With the property manager Barbara Goodie signing off and stating that I was guilty of everything found on the arrest report when it hadn't even been through a preliminary hearing yet, and the lawyers from JSCO going against the directive that the Board had voted on to wait until my case was over I was backed into a wall that I had no money to hire a lawyer with. My home of 42 years was taken from me, I lost everything I owned and had collected over a lifetime because I had no income and was on Section 8 and Food Stamps at the time they were doing this to me and I couldn't afford the storage fees. My little dog and best friend for 11 1/2 years came down with cancer after we were forced t live in a van on the streets after the eviction. I had to put him down and was all alone with nothing because I had the nerve (or stupity) to speak out the truth to the corrupt powers that be.
This is one of the most unscrupulous property management company's in the nation..
