I called and asked about coming in to get my grandson a suit for his school dance. The lady on phone told me no problem and that if alterations were needed that wasn’t a problem. His father and me took him, we got in and they were rude and didn’t want to even wait on us. They said go buy off of Belk or JC Penny, they couldn’t alter one in the two week time frame and they was sure they didn’t have anything in his size anyway. Well we were desperate so we looked around and waited on ourselves and did find his size. We would not have bought off of them after the way they treated us if we wasn’t out of time to find him a suit. I will never purchase from them again. They would not help us at all and was even rude when we were standing waiting to pay. The one lady said the sales lady is waiting on someone and they is other people next, we were standing in the back of the line behind all of them quietly waiting. I told her we know we are just waiting to pay. Then she came back took us to another register and checked us out ahead of others like she wanted us out of the store. They made us feel like they thought we wasn’t good enough to be in there store. This is the store in Winchester,Va.

I have just stopped by Joseph Banks in Winchester, Virginia. I have two jackets and a suit that need to be taken in. I have been on a diet and lost weight. The manager at Joseph Banks they told me about six months ago that if I had clothes that needed to be adjusted, even if they had not sold them to me, they would be able to handle that. My mom is going to pass away in the next couple of days and I have a suit that I purchased at Joseph Banks as well as two sport coats. When I went to the store, they told me that they could not do any alterations that the person that did that was only there on Monday and Friday. I understand those constraints for getting work done, however, when I inquired about whether or not, I could buy a jacket or a suit or pants today and they could measure it and have them altered for me to pick up after I purchase them she told me no, so all in all I basically was able to determine that you should not go there without having to make a return trip to get the alterations done if you’re going to buy a suit on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday because no one will be there to mark them for alterations and fitting. The other thing is Saturdays would not be available either. I was very disappointed as my mother is with hospice and not expected to live past this weekend. When I informed them of that, she said it wouldn’t matter. It would still take two weeks they don’t have any way to expedite that for someone who has to go to a funeral even though I originally purchased the clothes at the store. I have bought from Joseph Banks since I was in high school in 1978 but I’m now considering not returning because it makes no sense to me why I would have to come And make a purchase on Tuesday through Thursday or Saturday and then have to come back again to get them fitted for altering before I could wear them. Some of the pants don’t have a link already they have to be measured so that the tailor can make them the right length. But she very firmly told me no there was no one that could do that except on a Monday or Friday. Makes no sense why a men’s clothing store would not be able to fit the clothes that you would buy on most days and you would have to come back. She did say I could purchase the suit, but that I would have to come back on Friday or Monday to have them measured to fit. I am extremely disappointed and there was not even any place other than a customer who walked up and overheard me and suggested that I take them to another location and there is a very nice men’s clothing store underneath Kimberly‘s in downtown Winchester who has much nicer clothes and the manager there is the most accommodating Customer Service oriented person. I know in the industry in this area.

Great experience shipping around for my husband's clothes. Staff went above and beyond anything I've seen in any other men's or women's stores. They were helpful explaining the different fits and gathering items for us, making sure to keep our "cart" up front so we didn't have to carry everything. Great selection and amazing prices as well in a very convenient location. Highly recommend!

Cheap polyester suits from JC Penny's that they are selling for $350 bucks. Horrible customer service that couldn't answer a single question and then walks away from you. Guy with ponytail is an idiot and tells me to go to Mens Warehouse to buy a suit. I think he needs a different job than sales. I'll stick with Brooks Brothers suits from now on.

Overall great experience! From now on I will be recommending this location to anyone in need of dress clothes and I myself will be a regular. I was helped by Susan and she did everything she possibly could to take care of me. Highly recommend.

Bought a suit from here, requested a slim fit did not receive what I wanted. The woman who work in the store are great and very helpful but the tailor does NOT listen. This was my first suit so I did my research on how a suit should fit and received many different opinions after I received the suit, went back 4 different times for alterations & the tailor will not give you what you’re asking for. Going back to return the suit completely. If you order a suit from here, go elsewhere to get alterations done.
