I thought this was a great company until I turned 50 and they increased my premiums 5 times what I was originally paying. I was very disappointed to learn my 20+ years of being a member and zero health concerns that would increase my premiums mean absolutely nothing. Stop throwing your money away in this life insurance and open a whole life insurance plan. Plan for your retirement and death all at the same time. Plus you can withdrawal money from it if needed and pay it back over time. This is the worst kind of betrayal.

So far I have had zero issues. I have been using their Tricare Supplement insurance and I love it! I have not had to pay a Tricare co-pay in 3 years! I had surgery and between Tricare and MBA Supope4lmental Insurance I had zero out of pocket expenses.

Denied a whole years worth of claims. They keep saving we need more proof. Other companies paid right away. Tried to support MBA, but that was a mistake. Just billed for membership again $146.00 So i cancelled membership same week. They refund just $94.00. Terrible company and membership.25 year veteran and that is how we are treated. I lose $ 52.00 in membership but gain in better coverage and treatment from other companies.

For any veteran considering this company don't. I lost my son and they denied my life insurance claim. The company found a loop hole not to pay. This money I need for the burial. They then gave me 30 days to fight it while we were transporting my sons body home and grieving. I canceled my account afterwards and they still send me years later would I like to join them as a constant reminder how they denied my family. This could happen to you. Be very careful about engaging in any business with Military Benefit Association. I entered into a life insurance policy with MBA back in the 90's when I was in the military. The rate was good, and I was told that premiums were locked in. I was just informed of a 5X increase in monthly premiums.
I regret wasting 26 years of life insurance premiums, and then see them jack premiums to a wildly uncompetitive rate. (Fortunately I wasted 26 years of life insurance 🙂 ).
I firmly believe that MBA takes advantage of service members and veterans for their own profit.
Do your research before doing any business with MBA. There are much better options out there.

In response to the owner, and word of caution to prospective members: The policy I was sold was set for life, with locked in rates. At least that is what I was told. This was exclusively for service members. A 5X increase at 51 is not in line with market rates - hence, MBA offers lower rates from age 18-50 (when mortality risk is lower), collects millions $$$, and then forces members to pay higher than market rates or cancel their membership.
I signed up because I was on Active Duty and the policy I signed up for was only available for Active Duty service members. Knowing I would ETS in a few years, I opted in, and have since found out how deceptive this company is.
MBA does not serve service members, they take advantage. Do your research and find out how this non-profit distributes its funds - certainly $350MM since 2000 is a lot, but a drop in the bucket of your total budget, most of which is paid in salaries.
