I see a lot of bad reviews for this place but in all honesty I feel like Vickie the realtor that helped me out. Is there to help everybody out things happen I mean, I got into a situation where I had to move from a property that had rats and everything and she got me into a property, but the owner did not give me the rest of my deposit back, so I ran into financial difficulty with the New Owner, but that doesn’t mean that she’s a bad realtor. It means that she was trying to help me and rent out the owner’s property and help him,so I think this place is great. They help people and they try to do their best and I think they should get five stars. I’m still currently in my situation but I’m trying to make good with the owner and pay everything that he wants me to pay because right now he wants that other half and nothing else so I’m trying to get in good with him and pay him everything that’s owed to him but I think this realtor company is great and I think Vickie is great😊

We trusted Poplar Homes to professionally manage our property, especially as I’m 8.5 months pregnant and needed peace of mind during this time. Unfortunately, they failed us on multiple levels. During tours, they allowed the house keys to be taken and never replaced them, which resulted in a trespasser/squatter entering our home and refusing to leave. Instead of promptly resolving this serious issue, their lack of urgency has made this situation even more stressful, costly, and time-consuming.

Additionally, they continued scheduling visits to the property even after we had canceled the contract, which is highly unprofessional. Poplar Homes should have ensured that keys were checked after every tour, that properties were inspected, and that potential tenants were properly vetted. Clear communication with homeowners is a basic expectation, and their failure in this regard has been extremely frustrating.

Poplar’s handling of this matter has been completely unacceptable. We trusted them to manage our home with care, but their negligence has caused unnecessary stress during an already delicate time. I would not recommend their services to anyone looking for responsible property management.

After further investigation police and tresspassers / squatters we come to find out The lock box code was given to the squatters and that’s how they obtained the keys to our home . We fully believe a person on their management team helps to scam people into believing they are renting a place out. I hope that this matter gets resolved and that poplar homes takes accountability for their actions .

They promised everything before they get you to sign. When you sign then they ignore you and don’t show your property to prospect tenants. The phone goes to voicemail and they do t get back to you until maybe 3 days later. Irresponsible irresponsible and they give you run around
There is no set person in charge of your property they are several or people and none of them taje responsibility. I have renters lined up before o sign with them that are just waiting to show the property.
I even gave a qualified prospect that just need a credit run and signed lease
They are not giving you straight answer as why they delaying!

Tenant was on my property for 9 years, and they have no records to show that they had done any inspection.
Tenant left a big mess. They had dogs on property when they are not allowed to, and they smoked when they are not allowed to. They completely soiled the carpet and tenant never changed AC filter which left AC drainage clogged for a very long time and damaged exterior wall. Water damage on ceiling never reported or fixed.
And at the time of security deposit settlement, they didn't even allow me to charge tenant for cleaning, and only did so after I insisted.
If they had done the very simple job they were supposed to do, the tenant would be long gone after one year. So be aware.

Where do I start?
This company contacted me, I never reached out to them until they offered their services for my home I posted for rent. They agreed with the rental price I chose based on the location. They told me my home will rent between 2-4 weeks. I’m active duty military and was three days away from going out of town for a month and a half and then returning to deploy shortly after, which is the time that I planned to move my belongings. POPLAR HOMES encouraged me to move out sooner to get it rented by August 1st. This was June 20th, I had to be in Illinois by June 23th. I moved my entire four bedroom 1660sq ft home to storage to get it rented by August 1st. This was a very expensive event for me. They did not even put it on the market until July 8th even though they already had all the information. I’ve had to personally reach out for information about my property and the inquires, this company DOES NOT COMMUNICATE NOR RETURN PHONE CALLS.
The property manager they gave my property to, finally reached back and told me I should attempt to add a move in special, I agreed within 2 hours of her text message and a week later, the move in special we agreed on is still not advertised. I’m not sure what they are doing but I WILL NOT recommend this company to anyone. Today is July 31st and my home is still not rented nor do they have potential renters.

They will show you reviews but I’m assuming they paid for them. BEWARE

For approximately one and a half years, Poplar Homes was my property management company and my experience was largely disappointing. However, the one shining light for me was employee Brandy Hensley. I am quite critical of job performance when I agree to hire a company to provide me with service and I am constantly let down, not just with Poplar Homes but others too. I am quite sincere when I speak of employee Brandy Hensley as someone who literally goes "above and beyond the call of duty" and exhibits professionalism and job expertise consistently, always with a cheerful disposition. She has manners, too (most people I deal with today do not). She is a credit to your company and I heartily recommend that you recognize that. Morris Amira

Our rental property needed a lot of repairs after becoming vacant. Brandi Hensley, Property Manager of Poplar Homes helped us tremendously in tackling these numerous repairs. She recommended a trustworthy contractor and some reasonably-priced vendors to do the renovation. She flawlessly coordinated some of the repairs between vendors and addressed our concerns effectively. Our rental property's renovation, once completed, lo and behold, turned out to be amazingly beautiful! We couldn't have done it without Brandi's assistance! Well done!
