Ian was our landlord for 7 years. He was always quick to respond and had ready solutions to any issue that came up. Yearly rent increases were very reasonable. Being pet owners we were very happy to find affordable pet friendly housing in Morro Bay. We cannot recommend Ian and Rock Star highly enough. Cheers 🙂

Rock Star Properties managed my property for 5 years. They are awesome and took care of business in a timely manner. My partner and I rented from Ian in Morro Bay and he was easily the best landlord we've ever had. He was always respectful of our rights as tenants, forthcoming with any pertinent information that might affect our day-to-day, and highly responsive to any issues in our unit. As far as we're concerned, our experience with him checked all the boxes a reasonable person would have for a great landlord. It's tough being a renter these days, but things are a little easier when you rent from someone like Ian.

Ian and Rock Star Properties are fantastic. We started using Ian during the pandemic to find great tenants for our rentals and he really does an exceptional job. In addition to photos he does video which is super helpful for potential tenants who can experience a virtual walk-through. He points out things that need to be repaired and has suggestions on who can do the work, if needed. He is prompt, considerate, and extremely knowledgeable and the people he refers are great as well. We couldn't be happier with his service.

Ian and Rock Star Properties are wonderful. I have been with Ian and Rock Star Properties since I moved to Morro Bay 5 years ago. When I first was looking at apartments, Ian was incredibly helpful and even reached out to me when an apartment I was looking at opened up. I am now on my 2nd apartment with Ian and Rock Star Properties and I could not be happier. When I needed to move, Ian was so helpful and was able to find my fiance and I a new apartment within a few days. He made a stressful process very easy. Ian has been incredibly helpful with everything I have needed for my apartments. Ian is always timely with fixes and comes to help as soon as he possibly can. He has been incredibly friendly and I could not imagine renting from any other company in Morro Bay or the central coast.

I had a horrible experience with Ian Starkie and am wondering if the other positive reviews he has received, most of which were several years ago, are fake. Ian collected all of my personal data, to include my social security number, in advance of showing me a property he had no intention of renting to me. After completing his extensive rental application and viewing a home, I was told he would review my application with the owners and get back to me the following week. I never heard from him again. The property is still listed as available on several sites and it is listed for a price that is far below other similar properties in the area. Seems like some sort of scam to me. He was unprofessional and nonresponsive and as such, in addition to this review, I will also be reporting him to the Better Business Bureau and putting a freeze on my credit. Beware of any property management companies who ask for a completed application before a viewing. If someone asks for your social security number before you’ve even met, it’s probably not legitimate. I had to learn that the hard way.
