The star shines brightly during Christmas & New Year holidays even though the house up there burned down during Grand Prix fire. Thank you.

Really great view of the city! There's a pretty good amount of cars that will go up there so weeknights are best and during Christmas of course the star is lit, the trail is closed after dark so if you're planning to walk up it would have to be during the day or right at night fall

I remember when I was very Little my dad took me up to the star before they fenced it off. We got to sit right under it and it one of my most favorite memories. I really appreciate the star and what it represents.

Watching an episode of California's Gold with Huell Hoswer on the San Antonio Star.
Originally, a home was built there because of the stunning and expansive view. The owners then constructed the star for the holidays as a way to give thanks to the city.
In 2003, the Grand Prix Fire burned the home and star down. The community got together to raise funds and rebuild the star.
