Great customer service. Great bank no monthly fees. Atms are not the best and are always down with issues. Is really upsetting and time consuming have to be going to different ones. They have 2 as drive thru and a atm for walk up. The walk up is the one that gives less problems but its so irritating. They need to upgrade. Thinking about switching bc this is an on going issue

Went in a week ago, African American young female at the center desk was so disrespectful to me. She asked to see my phone (iPhone pro max) to see my online account app and instead of handing it back she dropped my phone on the counter. Next she gave me nothing but attitude when she’s the one that messed up and made changes to my account without my consent or even asking me first. She switched me from online statements to paper statements and at that point I could not retrieve my statements without paying her $5 for each statement!
I did request to speak with the supervisor, and when the supervisor walked over the young African-American female, turned around and quickly talk to the supervisor as if I was confused and I was the issue. Not wanting to waist another second of my time and give room to evil spirits, I decided to just leave.

Great location great staff. Would be five starts if the wait wasn’t so long. They need more tellers. Plan ahead sometimes there are 20 people in line with only 3 tellers. Plan for a 15-20 min wait.

Embarrassing experience at San Diego county credit union, as a 16 year and a half loyal customer I will not be returning to sdccu on valley pkwy and Broadway, after being embarrassed and humiliated by the manager and another sdccu employee in front of other customers, reluctantly I will be closing my account with sdccu, when a bank takes your rent money and jeopardizes your rent payment and leaves you in distress, it's time to part ways, I was happy banking with sdccu, the embarrassment and humiliation was that it was done in the open where other customers could here, and being that I deal with depression, it made that much worse, I will be filing a compliant, this could of been handled in a more discrete manner.

This is a terrible credit union. I had $401 in my savings account and initiated a transfer to my BOA checking account for $400 knowing there would be a $3.00 charge that I assumed would come out of the $400. Not the case! That is a separate fee. So SDCCU charged me a $32 fee and then they tried to run the transfer again for $400 with only $368 in my account, obviously that is not enough money, and charged me another $32 penalty fee!! I went into this bank to get a better understanding, informed the teller of the situation, and she immediately told me there was nothing she could do. Which I get it, she doesn’t have the authority, fine. I asked to speak to a manager, the teller went to grab her then came back and let me know the manager wants to call me next day. I understand there may be more pressing items on her agenda but I thought that was a very dismissive way of handling a customer. I then asked to pull out all of my money and close the account. Which the teller did without question and I asked if I can still get a call back. She then informed me that now that I have closed my account, I wouldn’t be able to get my money back!!! What kind of place is this!!! I’ve never been treated this way and definitely do not deserve this. I will be sure to spread the word to everyone I know, NEVER open an account with SDCCU!! They do not care about their customers!! I am now out $64 because I didn’t have an extra $3 in my savings account for a TRANSFER. You would think if there was not enough money in an account for a simple transfer, they would simply deny rather than charge their customers a ridiculous fee. Clearly this bank does not care about their people. Shame on you SDCCU. You have a terrible business practice.

UPDATE: Manager called me and I was refunded for one of the penalty fees but unfortunately the manager was unable to refund both. Still very unacceptable and my review still stands.

Same as other reviews here, after many years , I decided to close my account with SDCCU. At this branch you can expect consistent long lines, bad customer service standards. On top of that if there is an opportunity for SDCCU to make additional charges and take hard earned money out of your account then you can bet that will be the case. In my case they charged me 3x in a day, $32 each =$96. I was getting my paycheck pending into my account at same time. I asked if I could get these waived one time also if there is a way to block this from happening again...to make it clear I did say it's my fault and I would like to see if they can do anything about it this one time , the pending amount was visible on their end of the screen. First the clerk said nothing they can do. I asked to speak to the manager. As she approached she was ranting mentioning a credit card which I don't have with SDCCU, then in a very dismissive fashion and with unpleasant tone she decided to waive 2/3 fees ,remainding me that it was my fault. Outcome to this situation is that I decided to close my account here, first due to this particular $32 of my hard earned money and second due and subpar customer service treatment at this particular location. Please if you read this my advice is, do your research and bank in a different place instead.

Most of the time the tellers are nice... when you finally get to see one. Currently standing in the bank with 7 people in line in front of me and another 3 behind me. 2 tellers open, but a total of 6 people working behind the counter. Ludicrous to have to wait for 30 min in a line so short.
Honestly, not sure I see any advantage at SDCCU anymore. They used to be better than most banks, now they are just like all the rest.

I went to this branch yesterday afternoon to open a car loan, only to find it was very busy and short-staffed due to COVID. I was told that I would need to make an appointment and they were booked for 2-3 days. I explained my situation that I was trying to purchase a car and the dealer would not hold it for me unless I went through dealership financing, which has terrible rates. The receptionist called two other branches without success and then spoke with her manager. Within 2 minutes I was being taken care of by Erika, who couldn’t have been friendlier or easier to work with. I was out the door with my new loan in 15 minutes. Just top notch customer service. I’ve also found that it is always helpful, especially in these stressful times, for the customer to be calm, kind, and courteous. That often begets the great customer service we’re all looking for.
