Car insurance is something you don't want to think about, much less pay for, but now and then it really pays off big time. A family member was driving one of our cars and somehow a large cat got caught up in the front axle (Subaru) and could not be removed and perished there. Very sad. But then I had to figure out how to get it out and if there was damage to my car. Car was towed to Capital Subaru Service Dept, who heroically took on the job and removed the "cat and axle assy" and replaced with a new one for $1,100 plus towing! I called State Farm claims and found out my comprehensive would cover not only the axle replacement but also the towing, minus $100 deductible. Not too many questions and no dispute about taking it to the dealer service dept, and just got the check in the mail for the refund. Thanks to State Farm!
