We love Sumida Gardens! It’s a great place to live. The community is outstanding. It’s a family friendly environment and neighbors quickly become good friends.
Management is great and very responsive. They are extremely helpful. They go above and beyond to make Sumida Gardens the most welcoming place to be from coordinating beautiful events for the residents to providing excellent customer service.

Best place to live. We have moved ten times uptill now in Michigan as well as Santa Barbara and never loved any area like this.
We really liked these appartments and all the efforts put by our office management to keep this area safe and secure for our kids.
Christian (community manager) is very nice and friendly and always there for us.
Good thing is they are very kids friendly and Goleta Emergency is nearby.
Its a short walk from “Crushcakes” too.

I really enjoyed my time here. The gardens are lovely. I was on the first floor and had a path leading to my unit which was so useful.It was also blissfully quiet. The staff is amazing. Christian from the leasing office, went above and beyond. I highly recommend this apartment community.

It's a nice place to live, but be aware that they'll nickel and dime you on the way out in an effort to take your entire security deposit. We were tenants there for two years, but on the way out they conveniently took our ENTIRE security deposit for dubious repairs that very likely fall within the typical 'wear and tear' that is NOT legal to charge for in the state of California. We were so overwhelmed by the move during COVID that we didn't fight it, but it was scummy behaviour in a place where rents are sky high already. I guarantee you the owners of this place are making money hand over fist, and it's completely unnecessary, predatory behavior to scheme to take "refundable" security deposits from responsible tenants. I've never experienced another landlord in Santa Barbara doing that despite living in similar quality places (La Colina gave me my entire security deposit back for the same level of wear and tear). Rent here at your own risk.

This was a water heater tank failure I discovered at 3:30 AM. The night staff responded immediately and got the plumbers in at 8:00 AM and essentially they were done at 10:30 AM. I have to give congratulations to the whole team working together getting this job done - the administrative staff at Sumida Gardens and the excellent plumbers. I was very impressed!

I've lived here for over 3 years. My apartment doesn't look anything like the ones in the picture. My kitchen has the cheapest appliances that they make. My rent has been paid on time, the 1st of every month for 40 months. Currently I've been without hot water for 2 days. When you call to inform management no one answers the phone, You always have to leave a voicemail. I left the voicemail informing them that I had no hot water at 8 o'clock in the morning and again at 9 o'clock in the morning and no one ever called me back and it's been 2 days.I left a message on the office voice mail where they promise to return you call by the end of the day.It,s 5 o'clock the next day and still no call.I called the emergency night number and was told plumber would be here at 9 am. .He showed up at 5pm. My lease is up this month.I planned on renewing but we have decided to move.I've know slum lords that we're more responsive.

We are staying at this place from the past 4 months and would say we love this place. It is a perfect place for our family of 4 with two kids. Apartments are well maintained, common area, kids play area, pool, Gym are all well maintained.

All the staff members are very friendly, especially Asst.manager Anna at the Leasing office is great and very helpful. All our service requests and inquiries are answered quickly

Would highly recommend this place to live.
