Do not rent from SHERRY. You could do everything right and still end up with a slumlord like herself. To begin, I rented from sherry in 2022. The day of my move in. The house had no carpet in it and was filthy. Move in date got pushed back ok cool. Second move in date, I left work to meet sherry to get my keys. She no shows. Doesn’t communicate at all that she isn’t coming because of an illness in her family. Communication it’s key. You are holding the keys to my home that I am expecting to move in and you don’t feel it’s appropriate to communicate with me when things change? Move in date changed again. Of course I’m upset. I found the owner of the home and called her myself to let her know the type of property manager she had representing her home. She calls me upset because I reached out to the owner. We agree to start over because throughout the unprofessionalism, I felt that this was not going to be a smooth ship sailing. Started a clean slate. I move in. She didn’t not rap of to half of my move in inspection issues. All the toilet ran the whole two years I lived there. She did absolutely nothing about it. Tile on the tub was broken from a previous tenant and I asked her to have that fixed because I have a toddler that could hurt herself on it. Never got fixed. The fridge and freezer broke back to back. They took over a week to replace that. Did not feel the need to compensate me for the deep freezer I had to purchase to salvage my food in the meantime. Let alone pay for the groceries that went bad. I told her that there was barely any hot water coming out of my tub around Thanksgiving of last year. It wasn’t fixed when I moved out. I paid my rent on time and don’t feel I received proper maintenance or professionalism as I live there for 2 years. The move in incident should’ve been my sign to not move. But I needed to move so I proceeded. I just overall wish she composed more professionalism and actually liked to ensure her tenants needs are met. She fails to understand that we spend our hard earned money to live in a home that she doesn’t halfway want to maintain. Oh she also took $775 out of my deposit for cleaning carpet cleaning gutter removal and trash. I left 2 bar stools and a cubex in the garage. So that was warranted. But I had the carpet professionally cleaning the day before and cleaned the house myself. The only thing I didn’t do was mop the floor at the front door and clean the oven. So a 300 carpet cleaning fee and 250 cleaning fee is insane. Let’s not mention that the house was turned over to me in a filthy manner. I had to pay 300 to get it professionally cleaned. She claims that I’m responsible for getting the gutters cleaned… that’s not my house . You don’t provide any maintenance to that house at all. Overall don’t rent from the unprofessional property manager.
