We stopped here as we were passing by the town, and we were hungry. Everything about this place is great. Our server was polite, professional, and best, which was friendly. The food portions were much larger than the wife and I expected, and the flavor was amazing. The price isn't any different from any café I've been in. This is definitely a stopping place next time we are down here. We had Italian beef with truffle fries and a double cheeseburger and chips. 😋

We make a point to come from Milwaukee every 4+ months for lunch. Never disappointed! The burgers are out of this world and my husband had the fish tacos - yummy. We did indulge in a cookie for dessert and was not disappointed.

My group of four thoroughly enjoyed our dinner here on a Friday evening. Portions were generous and the food was flavorful, fresh, and inventive. Definitely make a reservation and secure it well in advance of your planned visit. Worth the time and money for a lovely meal.

Probably one of the best, if not the best farm to table restaurants I have ever dined at. This is a special place. Very creative small plates and entrees using locally produced organic ingredients. Best restaurant in the Driftless region of Wisconsin. Great portion sizes, cocktails and an amazing staff.

Wow, outstanding dinner at Driftless Cafe. We live in Denver and were visiting Wisconsin for vacation and knew we wanted to fit in a stop at this restaurant - it was SO worth it. The food is outstanding. The menu changes daily so I won't go into detail on the dishes, but they were all fantastic.

Note that portion sizes are generous. Nearly every table needed to go boxes. The cheese plate is fantastic but the menu doesn't mention it comes with bread and accoutrements so plan accordingly for the rest of your order. The menu also didn't mention that entrees came with a salad (a delicious salad, but still would have been helpful to know earlier to plan our ordering better!)

I loved that they featured a cocktail and a wine for very reasonable prices. This spot totally lived up to the hype and is a must visit!

Passing though town we stopped here for lunch as a family. The best part - we hit the tail end of lunch service and were welcomed warmly and not rushed out. Ruthie was our server and she was friendly. Food was approachable but unique and we loved the twists like the rhubarb jam atop the grilled cheese for our oldest child. Pizza was the choice of our youngest and they ordered two slices of the daily meat offering- it looked so good that I was jealous. We wish them well and on our next trip through town will definitely stop in. Next time we hope to catch dinner service!!

Friendly and caring staff, very quick to refill water, knowledgeable, and also asked about dietary restrictions 🙂 every dish was sublime, from the seafood to the meat to the vegetables. Every care put into presentation, ingredients, and preparation clearly shine through. “Lots of little things done well,” you might say. The star of the show was the mushroom karaage which I will forever be chasing as a culinary white dragon. Bring an appetite !

Soups tasted good but were bordering on cold. Full size lunch salads were great. There were pros and cons to the chicken sandwich. The breast cutlet was excellent and so was the bread - but it wasn't a great pairing because the bread was more of a "standalone" crusty, hearty bread that completely overwhelmed the chicken if eaten together. There was an overwhelming 2-3 layers of thinly sliced red onion on the bottom half. It tasted good when deconstructed, but I wanted a sandwich… not a chicken cutlet and a side of bread. Server was friendly and delivered water and food items promptly but made little errors, like taking all the silverware when clearing the soup cups when we still needed our knives and forks so we waited a bit to get replacements. She forgot our order of some of the unique soda they have, which we asked about when she brought the soup so she delivered them when she brought salads and sandwich. We are still interested in this restaurant for dinner, since the lunch menu understandably has fewer offerings and not the seasonal menus the place is known for, but we are likely to stick with salads and water in the unlikely event that we come back for lunch.
