As a small time investor most of the stocks were out of my range. I had hoped to build up my account through various smart and strategic trades. I was looking to be a stock trader as opposed to buy and hold.

There was a time when you guys put out newsletters and you did an awesome job and had the two founders and maybe a few writers then and now you have become ridiculous and every article is about trying to get everybody to go to more articles and "here are ones we like more" but you got to pay. it just discredits you. You lose all credibility with all these articles and sometimes you have writer's contradicting each other putting out articles on the same company and they have different opinions, and also what's really weird is when you do sign up for this company they send you emails and physical letters that welcome you as a fool -it's ridiculous. if you subscribe to investors Business daily, Wall Street journal, they don't call you "hello daily", "hello journal" but they say hi fool, I think it's kind of stupid

Beyond awful. I subscribed to their service around three years ago and literally EVERY SINGLE ONE of their recommendations has sustained major losses, some upwards of 80%. This during a time period when throwing the money in SPY would have yielded significant gains.

Their proposition is as follows: spend money on us, in order that we can help you lose money.

I have had Motley Fool for 4-5 yrs now. My experience is as follows: Many of their recommendations are very risky and you can loose significant amount; of course they recommend few good recommendations too. When the stock market is up, their recommendation also do well as is the case with many other recommendations by others. One thing which they lack is to tell the customers when to sell the stock. My observation is that they put sell recommendation for stocks when it is down > 60, 70, 90% value! (despite that fact some of them had appreciation over 100% in a few months). Another thing they say is to hold these stocks for 5 years.; For example, if you had their recommended stocks like SKLZ, FUBO, BAND, DOCN, RDFN, UPST, FLGT, U, MQ etc. you lost significantly! Diversification is another issue but hey are getting better over the last year or so. In my opinion, it is far better to invest in various ETFs for example, such as SCHG, VONG, SPY, VB and the like. Of course they also have winners such as CRWD, MELI, AMZN and the like and but they are relatively few compared to many losers.

Lousy recommendations from the "analysts" in their Stock Advisor and Rule Breaker newsletters. I paid for subscriptions to both newsletters because I believed I could trust their stock analysis and I believed in the wisdom of their recommendations. In reality, however, most of the monthly "hot" stocks these newsletters would hawk to the public and strongly recommend turned out to be garbage....highly inflated and over priced. Most of the "hot" monthly picks they recommended during the years of the Pandemic have crashed and not recovered, like Upstart and Zoom. I never got any emails from Motley Fool warning folks to sell these lousy stocks. Motley Fool's newsletters would almost scream how great their stock found stocks were, only to see many of the recommendations turn out to be disasters if you bought them. Furthermore, many of the "analysts" they would use looked so young, I wondered if they were old enough to shave, let alone make wise stock recommendations. Motley Fool used to be trustworthy many years ago. They are going to have to perform miracles to regain my trust again!

What a waste of time. Once you sign up and give them a credit card number, you will be absolutley bombarded with sales pitches to increase the cost and add more services. They will tease you daily with new secrets they are about to tell you about if you sign up. When you click through they tell you you already paid and subscribed to get the report they teased you with. But they wont tell you where it is or how to get it. It's not found on their website, and dozens of requests for assitance go unaswered. Terrible run marketing plan is going to destroy what has otherwise been a company with a pretty good track record. Cancelled my subscription today !!!!

My review might change 5 yrs from now, but I invested in Motley Fool earlier this year and I’m not impressed. I selected stocks that Motley Fool recommended and I am down more with their recommended stock picks than I ever was picking stocks on my own. They boast of great gains, unfortunately those are not the stocks I chose to invest in. I’m down around 25%, but holding onto them in hopes they turn around in 3-5 yrs. I still hold 7 of the motley fool recommended stocks (-57%), (-18%), (-28%), (-13%), (-23%), (+24%) & (+11%). They did recommend two stocks that I already invested in, but I sold the stocks before they recommended them with a great increase, one is higher than when I sold by 5%, the other is lower by 30%. I won’t renew my membership. Good luck to all the investors out there. Stocks are a great long term investment, but I am much happier with the performance of my stock picks than Motley Fools stock picks.

Poor experience with this outfit. I know there's no guarantee but I picked stocks better they they did! I think it's rigged. They are always trying to up-sell you. Cancelled my subscription 10 months early and no refund. There must be better sources for investment advice.
