My husband and I worked with Samantha when we purchased our home.
It would be a lie if I said it was an easy and smooth sailing process for us because it wasn't. There were a few hiccups along the way and we thought we would never get to closing but we did with our realtor, Samantha Tyler.
She was so in sync with us, letting us decide what we were looking for in a home but always speaking up when she needed to.
I felt so comfortable with her, like I was working with and talking to my best friend. She was always smiling, laughing and in a good mood when we were together looking at homes.
She was always available anytime. We would be texting from early morning or late at night. Any question I had that popped into my head, I knew I could contact her anytime with my questions or concerns.

I am finally leaving a review for this group now that this nightmare has finally ended. I rented two houses through them in the last 8 years. I should’ve known better after the first time when they wouldn’t allow me to come off of the lease, even though it was a dangerous living situation and I was being abused & had to be moved out/escorted out by law enforcement for my safety. They said I had to have signed consent from my abuser to be removed from the lease agreement… That was the first lesson. Fast forward 6 years and I rent another house from them because I was truly desperate in my desire to move back home to VA and felt I could trust the employee that I was working with. That being said, me and my significant other had the WORST experience with living in this home that had been “newly renovated”. There were multiples issues that I reported in the 9 months we were there. I’m talking from dead bugs everywhere to black mold to the smell of feces when you walked into the house to the water heater not working. I reported EVERYTHING. And the problems either had a bandaid slapped on them or were never fixed. The only thing I think they did correctly was putting us in a hotel while they fixed the sewage pipe underneath the house. And even that was chaotic because we were kind of left in the dark with what was going on. Nonetheless, we were offered to end the lease early so that the owner could sell and we jumped in the opportunity. We cleaned up well before locking up and giving the keys back. We have our new address for the security deposit but only received a letter stating we weren’t getting anything back and we just washed our hands of it. That was all October 2020 to July of 2021. Fast forward to June of this year and I receive a letter stating that a law firm wants to represent me in an upcoming court case. I had to search my name on the VA court system site, only to find that I had a court date in August for the house I rented with Tyler Realty. I call the name of the attorney representing the other party & find out that it is because of “water damage you had caused”. I show up to court to see what’s going on, only to find out they are basically suing me for over $5k in said water damage. Well I can only thank my father for knowing the laws and thank a few other parties involved for thoroughly investigating this situation and seeing it for what I was. There were two names on that lease and unfortunately, my significant other passed away in December, so I was the one left to take on the burden of being sued for over 5k. Thankfully, the case was dismissed this week in court due to the proof of negligence I had provided for the attorneys and I get to move on with my life. I learned my lesson this time around and while I will personally never utilize Tyler Realty Group again, I will also recommend that others look elsewhere when it comes to any need for a rental property in the tri-city area. I don’t want anyone to ever have to go through the same experience that I have.

I worked with Samantha when I purchased my home back in 2020. She was knowledgeable, patient, and extremely helpful! Over the past four years, she has stayed in contact and sent mailers. Which I appreciated because I didn’t feel like another number for her. The time has come for me to sell the property and immediately I knew that I would contact Samantha! Unfortunately did not have a good rental / property management experience. Many items that should have been addressed during the course of the year went unnoticed or unaddressed. Good knowledge of the local area and market, however it did not make make up for the pushing off of too many responsibilities that should have been handled directly and in a timely manner. The result at the end was too many time consuming and costly repairs that could have been mitigated earlier or avoided.
