UCI is a scam! Doctor Alan R. Schenk, MD is a rheumatologist there. Don’t work with him. He’ll charge you almost $1,000 after insurance for a 30 minute office visit. They even refused to do blood work on me, refused to treat me, and then had the audacity to ask months later if I wanted to schedule a follow-up visit For what? UCI health is a complete scam. Never go there for any of your health needs.

Most people come here to see a naturopath because they want an opinion from a non-physician after being frustrated with the medical system. You will get generic diet advice from a naturopath here, then will bill you under the name of a physician (MD/DO) you have never seen!

I was charged professional fees for a physician (MD/DO) who I never saw, I was seen by a naturopath. I contacted my insurance company, who asked them to recode it under the naturopath. UCI refused! It is fraudulent to bill a non-physician under a physician fee schedule unless certain criteria are met, called "incident-to" that requires the physician to be present at the first appointment, and they can only bill at 85% if the NPP (non-physician provider) sees you at follow-ups. I contacted the federal No Surprises Act who advised me to open a formal complaint against UCI which I did on both a state and federal level and that they will investigate.

Save your money, otherwise you will be sent a $500-1000 dollar fee when you can just google dietary advice.

Just want to give a huge shout out to Dr. Natasha Mesinkovska for being so amazing, professional and caring during my mole check and removal procedure. I have never undergone one of these procedures before and was very nervous but Dr. Natasha was extremely friendly and made me feel very welcome, comfortable and helped to reduce my anxiety through out the process. I can't thank her enough for her professionalism, expertise and quick turn around on my mole removal procedure, biopsy results and getting me the information related to it. I will definitely be coming back here regularly as long and she is still here! Thanks again Dr. Natasha!

I didn't get a chance to know the doctor, Matthew D Whealon, MD, but making an appointment with his team sucks. I called to make a phone visit which will be quick to see the doctor, after back and fortch checking in their system, they said you are a new one and have to make an appointment in person in 1 and half month!! Alright, I accepted it. Then right after the call, I got a message saying I have made a phone visit!!! I was so confused... Then I called them few days before the visit to make sure it was a phone call. Yes, it was a phone call. Ok, then I waited for the phone call at the scheduled time, as you know, they didn't call me and there was no any messages/updates what was going on. I waited for 30min and stopped it to do my own stuff. During the whole process of interactions with them, they just repeated the things that have happend instead of accepting their mistakes they made and answering why they changed the appointment. It was bad experience dealing with them. I was totally exhausted. After about 2 month, I still didn't get a chance to see the doctor:(

One of the only DOs you can find that takes insurance! Dr. Hecht helped me with my chronic pain mentally and physically. I cannot recommend this place enough.
