Virginia Premier Investments is truly the best property management company we've ever rented from. My husband and I have probably rented from 8 different companies combined across multiple states over the years, and no one has come close to the wonderful experience we had with VPI. We rented an apartment at 2416 Jefferson Ave for 18 months, and it is in a PRIME location in Church Hill. You are within walking distance to so many incredible restaurants, shops, and parks. We couldn't recommend these apartments enough - the best location, easy street parking, we always felt safe, and these apartments are built with very high quality and all new modern finishes (slow-close cabinets, lots of storage space, hardwood floors, keypad entry, courtyard, etc.). They're also dog friendly! We truly don't have any complaints about these apartments or our overall experience. David and Emily are the BEST - they are so responsive, so helpful, and so kind. We barely had any maintenance issues, but if you do there's an easy request system on their app and they are on it immediately! We feel so lucky we found VPI during our time in Richmond! The people at VPI are really nice. They're responsive, easy to talk to, and you can really tell they mean well. That's why I say please only rent a new construction property from them, because I'm sure that experience is great. We rented 2005 Cedar St. for 2 years. The building was in terrible structural shape and shouldn't have been rented to us, honestly. It needed a foundation repair (the whole house was tilting and sinking), a completely new roof, the flooring needed to be torn up and redone with all the warping due to the foundation shifting, cracking and shifting walls, rotting wood, and issues throughout the building that let in not just pests but wild animals (possums, birds, squirrels, etc). We had these issues since we moved in and they were never truly fixable, because again, the building should never have gone on the market in that state. To the team's credit, they were pretty responsive but every fix was a small patch to a house that needed deeper attention, so the issues just kept coming up. I felt like we needed maintenance every month for something new or an issue we thought got fixed but reappeared. To my knowledge, somebody moved in right after us and no major structural repairs took place. I think they also just cheaped out on the crews they hired to fix some of these repairs. Close to moving out, I overheard a building inspector really tearing into the management team about the state of the property. Really felt validating after feeling like I lived in an unliveable house for 2 years.
The management team was simply in over their heads. Again, they were very nice. They meant to do well by us, but I don't think they were properly equipped to. I do not think they should own or handle old construction homes or flipped old constructions. They should stick to buildings they actually know how to manage. If you're looking at a newer building, then they're likely worth a shot. If it's an older building, I'd think again.

We rented a beautiful home from VPI that is extremely well constructed at a rate that simply cannot be beat anywhere in Richmond. My wife and I relocated from another company’s tiny loft in Shockoe Bottom 2 years ago, which was costing us a fortune, to a spacious apartment home more than twice the size in Church Hill with all the modern amenities…and wound up paying less. The home has a large kitchen, brand new refrigerator, dishwasher, W/D, central HVAC and the only building in our block with active fire suppression systems. Off street parking means never fighting with neighborhood visitors or even other tenants for a space. If maintenance is needed, the management team is fast and courteous. I just signed a new lease to stay on until 2020 and maybe even longer. You won’t find better places to rent from or a more professional team than VPI. If I can buy a home from them in the future, I will. Thanks!

After years of subpar RVA renting I'm so glad I've found VPI! We have had minimal issues and when there are any, they're resolved within 24 hours! They are so great!

I rented from VPI for a year and a half and they were hands down the best property management company I've ever rented from. David was an absolute gem who jumped through hoops to make sure we were happy and comfortable in our apartment.

Two examples of this that stand out are within the first week of us moving in we got locked out walking our dogs very late at night. He answered our call immediately and had us back inside in under 5 minutes. We also had to terminate our lease a few months early because we had to move to Virginia Beach. They worked with us to meet our very tight timeline and ensure that everything went smoothly.

I cannot recommend VPI enough, if I was still renting I 100% would be living in one of their properties.
