The bottom line to this long review is that we trusted Tammy Mason to advise us on a house that we didn’t see in person, and was spot on with her assessment that it was exactly what we were looking for. She took very good care of us from the beginning of the process to the closing of the house, and even after we moved -- she must have taken at least another 50 calls from us, asking her who to call for this or that. She is patient, friendly, professional, and was always available to help us. We feel incredibly lucky that she happened to list the first house we looked at. If Tammy is your real estate agent, you will be in the best of hands!

We lived in Indianapolis, IN and were looking at homes on the Eastern Shore of Virginia. We were drawn to one house in particular, and Tammy was the listing agent. We called Tammy late one afternoon between Christmas and New Year’s Eve, and were surprised when she actually answered her office phone. We had lots of questions about the house and about the area. She talked with us for almost one hour, and enthusiastically answered our questions.

Within a day, she emailed us listings of houses we might be interested in, and listings of recently sold houses, so we could get an idea of the area, the market, and the prices. Long story short is that we made two trips to the Eastern Shore, Tammy spent 2 days each time, showing us houses, and learning what we wanted and didn’t want, what was important for us and what was not. About a month after our last visit, a new listing came up, and Tammy did a virtual visit with us in the house the very next morning. She gave us a feel for what we couldn’t see through the phone, and said she thought the house and the area was exactly what we were looking for. We decided to trust her and make an offer on the house without having seen it ourselves.

Tammy was absolutely right – we love our new home! Tammy took the time to listen and ask us questions, and she understood what was important to us. She was there for us every day after we moved – there are so many new things to learn when you move to a different state. She even called people herself and asked them to come and help us. We’re so grateful that she was there to help us, and would be there for us today, if we needed anything.

Beware of working with Cathy Salamone. She acts unethically. We had a verbal contract to purchase a property that she was representing. Verbal agreements are legally binding in the state of Virginia. We were patiently waiting for the sellers to get with their attorney before they signed our offer as the seller was visually impaired. The lawyer started making ridiculous demands that we were willing to go with and our ONLY request was that the agent mark the property contingent and immediately stop all tours. This was agreed to. However, this agent acted unethically. The listing remained active and showings continued. She shared our offer amount and EMD with new interested buyers. Then they came back to leverage more money from us. Our deal fell apart because of this agent's lack of integrity. Please beware!
