Scheduling was quick and easy for my annual. Check in was easy and quick, Dr. Mavencamp was attentive and ensuring I left with no concerns. He answered all my questions, and I'm very thankful! Very efficient and lovely appointment.

Slow. Asked before I even had my appointment what my copay would be because if it was more that I could afford I didn’t want to proceed with the appointment. Was quoted a certain amount. They knew what my appointment was for prior. At checkout they said it was for way more than quoted. They should have told me when I asked. Horrible customer service. If you don’t know the answer to something find someone that does. I would have rather gone to a place that gave me my prescription instead of having me come back for a second appointment. Worst eye appointment in 20 years

Outstanding! My family has been going to West Valley Vision for many years and every time, we're super happy. The doctors are awesome, support staff knowledgeable and caring, and they have a good selection of glasses and sunglasses. They don’t always have the exact color or frame, but are easy to work with to special order what we want. They have always been really helpful when figuring out how much insurance would cover when we pick frames and lenses. They're top notch.

I’ve been seeing Dr Mavencamp for years and have been very happy with my eye care. Just recently had to do an emergency repair on my kid’s glasses. They couldn’t repair the broken frame, so they set the lenses in a new frame on the same day. They have been great for our whole family!

Negative Stars should be a thing!

I got glasses (as backup) because it was time for a 'free' pair through my insurance. They gave me two options 'all over computer lens' and 'wear all the time/2 strength lens.'

I got all over computer lens' because I only use them when I'm on a device and they would be 'free' as the other pair would be a couple hundred dollars.

One day at my computer I realized I left my glasses upstairs and I grabbed the new spare pair to use long enough to check my e-mail. They were blurry... the lady had said it could take a few days for eyes to adjust, so I waited a few days and nothing. I called in & they said to come in. Nice, I live 4.5 hrs away... so weeks went by until I could get there.

As soon as the lady saw them she said she knew that they were the wrong lenses. I left them there and came back a few weeks later to pick them up again.

FFW: Today I put on the new glasses and they were a bit blurry, but again... a few days to adjust so I thought I'd take them off and use some drug store readers really quick instead. In doing so I lifted my head up a bit and I could see out the bottom perfectly! So the top and bottom are clearly different.

I called to ask them what the computer said my lens' were and was asked questions.... How far was my computer, etc. - The answer is the same distance as it's always been and no change from looking straight on to looking up a bit.

So, basically I used my chance to get a 'free' pair through my insurance & got nothing but extra work. I asked for my prescription to be sent to me... now I'm off to Zenni after all that work!

On the other hand my husband got a pair while we were there as well & his are fine. So maybe I just have bad luck? IDK

Do with this information what you will, but I won't be going back here. So essentially they lost 2 customers because of this screw up.

Now: Upon posting my review I see that many people have had negative experiences with this place. I guess I should have researched it better, as opposed to going on my insurances recommendation on 'close' providers.

I called my insurance & told them that not only did I lose my yearly benifit by going there but that they wouldn't be doing their customers any favors by recommending them again. To which the rep looked up their reviews and said she'd forward it to her supervisor.
